| I was going to post about what kind of crowd people reckon we will get saturday....and then i noticed this tweet for Saints.
[i"Grand Final tickets will only be on sale from the club until 12pm today before they have to return to the RFL!"[/i
Judging by the playoff crowds, i think this will be the worst attendance for a few years.
I reckon 55-60k

| Perhaps it would have been better if they had actually got The Saturdays to attend.
Does Saints not having a club base at the moment not contribute to this? I think most people will buy direct from the RFL.
But if the crowd is poor it was bound to happen. Saints have been in 6 consecutive finals, we've won a few in the past so there is nothing to be excited about. Leeds have won plenty too.
Had it been Wire v Wigan it would unquestionably have sold out. I think the worst thing for the Grand Final attendance is that so many tickets will already have been sold to Warrington and Wigan supporters. Judging by the multitude of threads on here, those fans now will not attend as they are raw and bitter about their sides' failure. I know a lad who bought 20 tickets, convinced the Wire were there. His tickets haven't arrived yet and he's not going to have much luck shifting them given that it's not a sellout. They may well include sales as attendance but there will be sections of each end left empty by mard supporters of failed clubs.
Personally I reckon about 52k. Not bad really.

Alternatively, perhaps the RFL want them back early because their ticket stocks are running low and they think they will be able to shift any excess in the Saints allocation. I suspect the ticket sales might be very good, but with empty seats through early sales to losing semi-finalists.
That said if you'd shelled out a decent amount for a ticket you'd still go wouldn't you?

No, they are bunkering down until Sunday. No TV, radio, internet or phones in Wigan or Warrington this Saturday.

| I think it will be the lowest crowd for a while. Looking at the Leeds/Saints final attendances:
2007 - 71,352
2008 - 68,810
2009 - 63,259
Then 71,526 last year with Wigan going for the first time in yonks.
I think there'll be about 58k there.

| I struggled getting 8 together from the RFL site on Monday so looked for 2 lots of 4 and again struggled. I ended up with 8 on a row in the north east quadrant but it would seem sales have gone pretty well.
I read Leeds had 2k left the other day and not sure about Saints.
I'd guess around 65k in total.

Did you try via Saints? The RFLs website would show sections reserved for the clubs to sell as being unavailable. Once Saints and Leeds send the tickets back today, there will be a few thousand more available.

| Makes sense for the RFL to take the tickets back and sell them centrally - all those who wanted to buy direct from the two clubs have had plenty of chance to do so.
Just a reminder though that the RFL will not post out any tickets purchased after noon today, they'll have to be collected in person from the ticket office at Old Trafford IIRC.

Not sure, Saints fan booked the tickets and I'm 3 rows away from the other two.
I'm going to feel dirty for cheering Saints on.

| Not all of a club's fans buy direct from the club as well. It's been a while since I've purchased Grand Final tickets direct from the club because usually I have to get more than my allocation with gloryhunters, my dad (he doesn't go that often these days due to declining years) and non-fans who I manage to coax into coming.

So, let me get this straight, you are going with 2 other friends. And they got you a ticket 2 rows away for Old Trafford? Despite Saints not selling their allocation for the West Stand?
I think you've been had mate.

| Think there'll be more *(Leeds) fans there on saturday than there was at wembley.
This sudden resurgence in good fortune was bound to bring the part-timers back out of the woodwork.
*(Leeds) These are the "Leeds" fans that wouldnt go all the way to Wembley because they didnt think we would win and subsequently wouldnt get any where near Old Trafford

Same. I can't remember the last time I booked final tickets from Saints.
It's either RFL directly, immediately post-match, or maybe in a coach package with one of the local boozers.

| The fact that they didn't originally plan to open North Stand tier 3 but then put it on sale suggests it will be a pretty good crowd.
