Where will Doncaster go from here?

I hope they're still around when the dust has settled.

We all do but I am really afraid that this is once again stretching any credibility that rugby league in Doncaster has. It needs a complete and utter clear out of anything to do with the past. It needs the credibility restoring which obviously takes time, and once and for all it needs people to come in who will keep a level head on finance and not get carried away with false promises and false ideas. Do not run before you can bloody well walk.

Are Doncaster going for some sort of crash-and-burn record ? They're averaging one club-ending crisis per season, and filling in the gaps with announcements of astounding optimism.

Perhaps instead of Dragons they should be the Doncaster Bipolars, or the Doncaster Manic Depressives...

Maybe they should beg rlfans to pull them out of the $hit....

Nonsense. There's not a fan out there, including me, who doesn't hope that Doncaster can get their act together. I spent a happy evening watching Another Bloody Sunday on Youtube, so I have a soft spot for Doncaster. But just as it was reasonable to take the out of Saints when they were busy lurching from one foot-shot to another a couple of years back, it is also reasonable to point out that Doncaster are beginning to develop some form in this regard.

Take the point about the development of form, my point is that name calling is not called for at this point. The long suffering hardcore of Dons fans know more than anyone that they support a Towns RL side that has been brought into disrepute yet again. False promises, folk with big ideas and at the end of the day fur coat and no knickers. It will take some doing to regain peoples trust in RL and Doncaster, and that sad fact does not help.

Really depressing to hear about Donny in trouble again, but you have to wonder when lessons will be learned.

All sports are struggling

All RL clubs barring 3/4 are struggling

All lower tier clubs bar probably 1 are struggling

Sooner rather than later a club will go and not come back

Going into administration can be a great way of clearing your debts. Ken Bates bought Leeds for a nomimal sum plus their debts which were in the tens of millions, he took them into administration almost straight away and all debts were wiped out, he then bought the club off the administrators for £1 so had the club he wanted with very little debt. A nice bit of business.

How?

The only way it's ever avoided if there is someone with enough cash (or says they have enough cash) to come in and bankroll them. If there's not enough interest in a club to attract anyone like this, then they will go to the wall, but what can you do to stop that?

Not a good sign for the club, however its not the first time, hopefully it can carry on. Interesting as Bauer was working in the club also as Media Officer so not just players having to leave then.

Probably doesn't help throwing cash at Ellery Hanley et al with some dream of SL before you even have a fanbase.

It's sad sad news, but I can't help but think there have been a procession of delusional muppets at the helm of the club over recent times.
