Anyone know why they have had such a poor start?

I thought they would be a top team this year. They have signed some top class players, added to some quality they already have. For RL to grow it would make it easier if Catalans were a real force, I just hope they carry on this year with a better table position.

They did last year and the year before.

How many games have they played ?

Or are you one of these missguided people who thinks that everbody can be a success on the pitch and nobody has to finish bottom ?

There are only 3 teams that i want to have a good SL season.

My team Giants
Crusaders
Catalans
If the top 3 was in that order i would be very happy.

I am not bothered about any of the others as long as they play entertaining rugby and are a credit to RL.

I asked the very same question on the Catalans board.

I want them to do well, even more so than Crusaders. Catalans are a genuine club, they have history behind them (Through UTC) and people there are passionate about the sport. But I do fear for them also. When they looked to be limping out of the top 8 last season their Chairman through a proper dicky fit and threatened to withdraw his investment. If that happens it would be a disaster for SL, Catalans are one of the main assets.

I think Greg Bird has been a massive loss to them, he was a top player last season.

Don't discount them!!

They will cause more than enough trouble for teams.

Probably the play offs and maybe win the first round but that's it this season, I suggest, but next season.........................

Catalans will come good.......they have lost to Saints....still a top 4 team, Wakey who are still a top 6 team and a quins team that HAD to win after their previous performance. They won 1 from the first 7 last year and they will be in the 8 come September.

Could it be they provide a large % of the French national team. Long seasons especially if they are carry injuries

They have hardly been given an easy start to the season with 3 away games and 1 home.

Once Bosc returns I am sure they will improve, not having a man sent off every week may help them too.

The answers are pretty obvious, we have lost Bird, who was very influential, Bosc is injured - and is the heart of the team, the shocking disipline at the club seems to have got worse and finally, had more representatives in the 4N than any other club in the world.

I just really want them to do well. Just as much as I want to see Crusaders and Quins do well. I want to see more success stories. Catalans being right at the top of the league would help them massively off the field.

Not quite. Maybe it was lost in translation but it was more along the lines that the players didn't deserve their wages.

Wakey are my 2cnd Favourite team and deserve all the success (obv not when you play the reds

Catalans were dreadful. Zero defence and nothing in attack. Easy for Wigan. Drive, drive, drive with the forwards then swing wide for an easy gap. That summed up nearly all of Wigan's 10 tries but CherryandWhite.co.uk does have a full report.
