The bald facts are that, despite getting a few weeks notice (with Italy getting hit first) the UK has the highest numbers of deaths in Europe so, keep chucking in your propaganda but, the government aren't doing all that well.
As for going to war, it's a totally different situation but, keep up with the distraction tactics.
This lot would probably have plenty of tanks and guns but no bloody bullets

Again point astonishingly missed.
I don't disagree with you, the Government's general response has been pretty shoddy, to say the least, and I suspect when the dust settles some swords will be fallen on.
The issue here is the reaction, not the event. The comparison is not with WW2 and COVID it's the response of agenda over practicality, why that baffles you is quite beyond me. Whoever originated the list was making that point rather than comparing the technicalities of the two events, I think that's pretty obvious despite your rather contrived attempt to make it seem otherwise.
It's this idea that people like you have that somehow you have noticed something the rest of us mortals have not, well you haven't, it's pretty obvious even if you are a true blue or not, which I'm not.
The last bit was a cheap shot from you by the way. There are as many Tories playing the hindsight/look at me game as Liberals or Socialist, so ct out the party political nonsense, it doesn't wash with me. I certainly didn't make a political point in the opening post, mine was an observation on the changing attitudes of British society, give it some thought, I did.
