Quote ="Ste100Centurions"You are correct that Leigh are highly unlikely to see a 10k average any time in the next decade unless there is a massive shift in the perception of the sport as a whole & RL becomes a much more attractive proposition for folks fun money.
I would suggest that a moderately established Leigh, say taking positions 9-7 over 3 years would return an approximate average return of 7 - 7,500 & a well established Leigh taking positions 7 - 6 over 4/5 years would return an approximate average of 8 - 8,500, not IMHO beyond realms of reason.
All of the above of course being based on 'Actual' ticket sales, unlike those of TW & let's not forget that Catalans have had the privilege of being a 'Protected' franchise for the vast majority of their existence since inception & only average around 8 - 8,500 !
In 2017 Leigh were the 8th best supported Club with a higher average gate than, Wakey, Widnes, Hudds & Salford all of which are established SL Clubs.
TW will continue to lie about attendances & only offer the most deceitful camera angles to back their claims of 8k crowds, just as Sky did at Summer Bash while zooming right into the centre of their huge travelling Wolf Pack instead of panning out to view all 2 dozen of them in their full glory.
Of the "smaller clubs" only KR, Leigh, Bradford & Halifax will ever be able to build a sustainable & decent support base with only KR particularly successful at present in that regard.
Oh & while I am at it, only Saints brought a very large support & Wigan were pitiful in their absence, both at the start of the game & the beginning of 'the walk' 20 minutes from FT.
Bring back Bradford, love 'em !'"
Your information about Toronto and attendances is factually incorrect.
You obviously don't understand how things work on this side of the Atlantic. Toronto has the most accurate attendance figures in all of sport...you must not be aware but the actual tickets and all figures are not kept of taken by any TWP person, rather the stadium is run by the municipality (City of Toronto) and they are in charge of tickets, entrances, security and all tabulations. City employees take the tickets and run the entire operation.
The city is an incorporated neutral third party which is subject to forensic audit on their numbers, there is no fudging, nor has there ever been; it would be deemed an illegal act of fraud and the City would be held to legal account...not going to happen. The attendance numbers by the City of Toronto are accurate and for you to suggest otherwise is deceitful. Anyone who doesn't believe me can watch the game this weekend against London and judge for themselves.
TWP is not in charge of camera angles, this is done by Premier Sports who are in charge of camera placements and angles....TWP has nothing to do with it. If you have a problem with Premier Sports take it up with them and don't blame TWP, it is intentionally disingenuous.
Stick to the truth.
