Spot on. Macklin had both the voice and the knowledge. No wonder he went off to do soccer when he couldn't get the gig off Eddie Waring ! It was chalk versus cheese(y).
Ray Warren has been the finest League commentator by a country mile with 'Sterlo' the best co-commentator as he is completely unbiased, unlike Phil Gould, whose passion and knowledge do lend great insight to the viewers.
I believe that part of Woods' appeal (:EHicon_smile.gif to some is that he 'isn't Ray French'. He is, err, simply welcome, err, relief.
