| Hi, I am 14 years old, 9 stone and 5 foot 7/8. I have played a bit of rugby at school, and enjoyed it, but I am not 100% sure on what my best position would be. My main strength is my evasive skills, and I have a decent passing and kicking game on me. I am not great defensively, but I would be willing to work and improve, and I have been a fan of this for a good 10 years
A a bit of a long shot I know, but I would feel a lot more confident if I had an idea of my position before I joined a team, thanks.

| Great to see another young kid gaking the game up.
I agree with everything said so far, get down to your local club and take it from there. If you qualify for the Under 15s, Blackbrook have the best side in the North West, if not in the country, while the Under 14s have just won the treble, so it will be good fora a young lad like yourself to surround yourself in either of those set ups.
To answer you question, you sound like a potential Half-Back to me, but to play there takes a fair amount of experience playing the game. Work on your defence, and FB and maybe Centre could work out to.
Good luck with whatever you decide to persue, and most of all, enjoy.

| So, our coach has suggested I play stand-off or loose forward, so if anyone has any advice about playing in either of those positions, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

| My eldest lad is moving back to Warrington after 5 years out here in the ME playing Yawnion. Not yet 14 but he's 5 10 and probably pushing 12 stone and not played any League since he was about 6 at Burtonwood and he's grown a fair bit since then.
Don't think he fancies the cold or the mud but he's looking forward to getting back into it. Think he's in for a shock

| The only advice is practice. Practice, practice, practice. Get the core skills right and you won't be far away.
Also, listen. Ask coaches and peers why, how, when. Listen to the response and take it on board.
