| Is this a must win? I know it's only round 3 but with Toulouse and Featherstone after this, a loss here would be 1 win in 5. I don't think we'd recover from that. No Gilmore or Johnstone for Widnes, two of their best players so no excuses from us. Expect Walker to have a stormer!
Some big calls from Dunning of who to play at 1, 6, 7, 9.

| I wouldn't say its a 'must win' game but with Toulouse and Fev around the corner we could be looking at 1 win from 5 games and the dark clouds will descend. Time for Dunning to walk the walk.

Yeah, people are forgetting that Holmes was solid in Week One. He was poor this week but stick with him. Maybe give Flanagan Jr a run in the games after Toulouse and Fev.

| Difficult to draw conclusions with only 1 home game and 1 away game played, but wouldn't it be ironic if Dunning basically switched last years form? made us a much more competitive team at Odsal but at the expense of our away form....

| Appo and Johnson must come in.
Matongo possibly signed up and thrown is as well?
Does anyone know when Scurrs ban is up?
Butler to start, why the hell he was on the bench (barring not being fully fit) is beyond me.
Does anyone know where we can pick up 2 wingers before Sunday?

| It's hard to fault DFJ. Always gives 100%.As far as Blackmore is concerned I would rather see Jayden Myers on the wing. Against Haven he was put in the clear and after 20 metres he was looking for support rather than going for it. Baldwinson for me is just not up to it. Reminds me of Kirk, big lad but never seems to break a tackle.

Its always the same lines everyone rolls out when ever someone mentions DFJ . 'Cant fault his effort, allways gives 100%'. Both of which are true to be fair but theres just not a lot else is there. Hes just not got the ability, and wouldnt get in any other of the top 5 or 6 sides in the league.
He does always put in 100% and hes a nice bloke too, and can do a good job as 3rd or 4th choice dropping in for a few games here and there. Ifwe want to get where everyone wants to be and challenging for the playoffs we wont get there with him and Blackmore as first choice wingers in my opinion.
Totally agree about Baldwinson. Offers nothing, doesnt run hard, another one who should be no where near 1st choice.
Really disapointed with Foster and Aj as well last night both seemed to go missing.
Thought Rogers stood up well (minus a couple of errors). Butler decent once he finally got on the field, and Roby looked sharp. Think hes going to turn in to a fanstastic pick up and wont be long before he jumps in front of Flanagan in the pecking order.
Really hope MD shows some stones and makes changes for Sunday and doesnt come out with the "lads deserver a chance to redeem them selves" line.

| For me it’s a must win. Don’t win this and we could well be bottom of the league come end of Week 5.
The first three games for me were must wins. 6 points on the board going into Fev and Toulouse.
Made a lot harder with Walker’s injury and Lawrence not being in the side. Is Appo fit enough to play? Has he had a pre-season in PNG? Either way we need some power in the pack with Lawrence out.
For me:
Holmes
Foggin-Johnston
Gill
Arundel
Blackmore
Patton
Lilley
Rodgers
Roby
Foster
Butler
Thompson
Appo
Flanagan Sr
Baldwinson
Matongo
Wallace

| Absolutely it’s a must win. If attitudes have really changed within the squad, we should expect a response from Monday nights poor performance. Widnes are coming to our patch and the sides are closely matched, time to put down a marker. I am not convinced by MD so far, but this is the ideal match to prove doubters like me wrong.
The bad news is, I will be attending and recent trends have been that we hit new lows each time I do, apologies in advance.

| A big game on home soil this one. Ironically if we win I think we will be exactly where most would have thought after 3 games. The target has to be to win our home games against our rivals for the playoffs and take them close away. We failed to do that with York. A win over Widnes rescues it and Toulouse and Fev are free hits. A loss to Widnes (especially in the same spirit as the York game) and the negativity will spread like wild fire.
We need to be switched on and bang up for it Sunday. JK will have the message across to his lads. Let’s hope MD has done the same

That's exactly how I would go. Lawford and Patton at half back.

Spot on mate. GF is a fan favourite which i get, but for me isnt good enough to be in a team that wants to be challenging for the top 4

| 100% when was the last time you saw him scoot & catch markers off side or even make a half break?
Don't think he is the most professional of characters to have around the place.

| I think that’s a bit harsh on GF Snr
He is the most enthusiastic member of the squad lifting them regular when on the field and still imo Is our most dangerous attacking threat close to the line. In terms of scooting from dummy half he does this regular close to the line, in fact you could almost make a case for too often

| After effects of some illness apparently.
Flanagan snr may bring enthusiasm but you want that from everyone. After his various bans I would've let him go.
However, with Walker out we probably need to play Holmes at FB which rather messes up the halfbacks. I don't like what I've seen of Patton but we're stuck with him. I'd probably go with him and Lawford and Lilley at No9. Roby on the bench.
I expect Dunning to go with Flanagan snr though.

| Yeah I think the changes will come in the forwards with Appo & Matongo coming in and he'll stick with Lilley/Patton. It's not the creativity that really worries me, it's if those two can keep their heads, stick to the game plan and keep us organised in what will inevitably be a tight game.
For all the grief Flanagan gets, i don't really remember him giving away penalties or kicking the ball on the second tackle last week.
Absolutely huge game this. Lose this and we'll inevitably end up 1 from 5. Would love to be proved wrong as I can see some of Dunnings stamp on things, but not sure he'll recover from a defeat today unless he pulls off a surprise victory against Fev or Toulouse. Widnes have two of their best players, in key positions missing. We're at home against a play-off rival. Absolute zero excuse today.
Expect Ant Walker to be man of the match.
