| If we play like yesterday, yes.
We know what sort of game it will be. Unpleasant, lots of screaming, shouting, and sledging. Just got to ignore it. You just have to look at the clubs social media account to realise how they're going to try unsettle us. Even the coach is trying to turn everything against us with social media antics. A club I'm starting to dislike unfortunately. Can you imagine if John Kear quoted an angry Workington fan on social media to paint the opposition in a bad light or the clubs offical accouunt doing the same. Classless.
We have a ref as strong as yesterday, and not another useless Mcmullen, Workington's main tactic is out of the window.
Same 17 again. Come out and rip in. We're better than them. Go out and bully them! Bring it on.

| I expect a much closer game on Sunday. Hopefully Kear can get the tactics right and the players will need to be patient. Give Workington a head start and I can see us being in for a disappointing afternoon. On paper we should have the measure of them but that hasn't been the case in the previous two encounters so another 80 min performance will be required to get over the line.

| Looking forward to the game. Hopefully this time we'll have enough on the bench. I'd be tempted to play the same side as yesterday. The only possible changes I'd consider might be Hallas for Lilley to add a bit more defensive starch but that impacts on us in an attacking sense and maybe Bustin for Kirk but Kirk's defence was superb yesterday.
If Egodo is out then Hitchcox in the centres and Grant on the wing or Oakes in the centre?

| With Egodo sadly likely out, and us knowing what sort of game it will be, would anyone be tempted to put Garside in the centre and have a rotating 8/10/13 of Bustin/Crossley/Kirk and rotate them with Peltier/Green/Wood.
We got bullied the last game. Wouldn't happen with big drives from Bustin/Crossley/Peltier/Green and the defensive work rate ot Kirk and Wood.
If not then please no Dalton Grant. Pownall and Oakes are both ahead of him.

I like your idea of the big six rolling through the middle and it's probably how I'd have them play it but I can't see Kear going for this. Its a bit too obvious and as much as it would shread the nerves, I think he'll end up playing a 17 none of us would expect.
Pownall should be nowhere near the team next week. I was fairly excited when we first signed him as I remembered him being a real danger whenever we played Leigh. Don't know whats happened to him but he's a shadow of his former self and looks very low on confidence.
Garside in at centre would be ok defensively but the guy never passes so it would mean the breakthrough would be needed in the middle of the field... which is exactly where we lost the battle last time around.
I'd go with Grant at wing and Hytchcox at centre.

| Hmmm... playing a guy in a position that he hasn't played all season?
The last time I remember us doing that in an absolutely crucial game was when Lowes played Matty Blythe on the wing and Jean Philipe Baile as hooker in the MPG and that didn't exactly work out so well...

Yes but on the flip side the last time we won a playboff match was away at Leigh with Purtell at Stand Off.
So we do win some with players out of position.

Add to that, we'd not beaten Leigh all season, then turned up and won when it mattered

Agreed. Unless there's a really valid reason for changing players - injuries, etc, the team on Sunday showed what can be achieved when all the players gel.
Replicate the ethic, belief, and skill we now know the guys are capable of, and the match is ours.....surely !?!?!?
This is OUR Wembley cup final, so the semi final guys are surely the team to back by JK

I totally agree with that, though there is much credibility to JK's thoughts on there being reasons to bring in certain players or put someone in a particular position, due to the strengths/weaknesses of the opposition. That may be 'overcoaching' given the difference in class between teams in this division, but I'm just glad I'm not the coach!

| Same team imo.I thought Lilley was fantastic in the first half on Sunday.a first half where the effort and strength put in enabled us to do what followed.Same team, same modus operandi as I think we would have beaten Workington,or anyone in the division playing like that.Completing sets and making the opposition use up energy having to return from deep is what creates a platform whereby you can go on and win most games.
More of the same please.

O/T Well done to Jake Trueman being named RL Rookie of the year. He's had an incredible break through season.I would have loved to have seen him develop at Odsal but it was not to be.He'll go far imo.

| So with a grand total of 4 rugby league games this week, the RFL have decided the best ref for the job is an inexperienced official (Marcus Griffiths). Good luck lads, we now know what sort of game its going to turn into. Farce.

Then surely in such an important game as this, the club management must be able to put in some kind of appeal for an experienced ref ?
If not, then just shows what importance the RFL put on the lower leagues.
They're just a joke, and need to take a look at their policies for this type of fixture.

Wow! James Child, Gareth Hewer, Liam Moore, Jack Smith and Scott Mikalauskas are just five of the SL referees who don't get a game this weekend. The best Child and Hewer can manage is to be named 'reserve' referee for games earlier in the weekend!
Unbelievable.

| Both clubs have to approve the appointment I believe so we're obviously fine with this.
The ref should have no bearing on how well/poorly we play.

| He refereed wakey/warrington at the weekend, even some neutral journos were saying he was poor. Getting basic calls wrong. Had a look at the Wakey board (i know you take it with a pinch of salt as every fan thinks refs hate their club) but it sounds like Mcmullern all over again in his refusal to use a card for repeated foul play.
