There's also the loan deals for Laithwaite, Wood and Johnson.

I'd definitely try and get the loan players signed up. As for the others there's nobody in that group that I'd be desperate to keep provided we could bring in better players.

I'd be looking to keep hold of Trueman for another year or two to see if his potential shines through. I've not seen him play but if he's owt like his brother then he's one to try and keep hold of.

Max has left, he asked to be released. He was back playing for West Bowling last week

I wondered why he wasn't on the squad lists... all makes sense now.

I'd let Smith and Gibson go but only if we can find decent replacements. If I had to guess I'd say that they are probably two of our highest earners but our centres this year are possibly our weakest area. I think we can do better.

I also wouldn't look to keep Mikey Wood. He's quite cumbersome and just doesn't have the impact to match our other forwards. He's not standing out in a dominant League 1 side so that doesn't bode well for the Championship.

I'd keep Grant. He doesn't get much service but he's decent and I'm not sure we can find anyone who is a significant enough improvement.

Johnson and Laithwaite I would try and keep but I'm not sure we'll manage it. I think Hudds will want to hold on to Johnson.
Toronto is a weird one. If they get promoted I can see a lot of their squad being told to find new clubs so I hope we're ready to make a move for a few if it happens. If they don't go up then I have no idea how they will react tbh



Hard to comment on any of the ooc guys from the reserves because I haven't seen them play.

Grant at a push, decent enough finisher given service. Let the rest go.

I wonder if we'll find out any new structure for 2019 before we're too far down the road of squad building for 2019?

I think it's already too late to adjust the 2019 structure.

Personally I think he’s a decent player and would of liked to of seen him given a chance at some point

He’s a bit older than Jake, he’ll be 22 now. He played a lot with my lad at West Bowling as a junior

TBH, our back line is where the main focus for recruitment needs to be for next year. It's not as strong as it needs to be to compete in the Championship

I’d defo keep the loan players too. Laithwaite and Wood’s work ethic is immense. Quick play the balls so can play off the back off them, Wood rarely makes errors and they are both solid in defence. Johnson is good when he gets the chance to play, although can miss tackles.
Out of the others I’d keep Gibson ( very solid defensively), Grant and I thought King had potential in the pre season games. Maybe Andrade too.
