I doubt it would make much difference

I suspect that, once the immediate pain of today diminishes a bit, most of us - somewhat grudgingly - will show up for the home games. After all, if we paid for those games we might as well turn out! It beats an afternoon at Ikea (just!)

So, I still think we'll get about 2500 to 3000 for those games. But the walk up support will be pretty much zero

Correct call about Wednesday. The RFL will formally unveil all the schedules on Wednesday.

The Micky Mouse shield is now a 2 horse race between us and Halifax. Is there a 'finals' day this year or will the game be played at the home teams stadium?

Even as a seaon ticket holder I don't think I'm going to most. Would rather watch Batley in the middle 8s. I'd rather watch players where it means something to play for their club. Don't think you'll ever accuse Batley of lacking effort.

If even one player who is leaving plays in any of these fixtures I've already seen my last game of the season.

It's time for the club to announce which players are leaving, thank them for their services (lol) and then not pick them for the games. I will at least be interested in going to the Shield games if we ONLY play next years squad including the talented Academy players who have signed up

We have 9 contracted players for next year not counting the nippers.

That's more than enough.

I think the club need to move quickly to inform the fans of what will happen next season - FT/PT, squad size, management/coaching structure, continuing youth development plans, etc. They're gonna have to give the fans a huge sell if they want people through the gates for the shield, and even next year.

How can they, whatever third rate fare may be affordable, they can't commit to much before they can quantify the extent of the financial Armageddon that not making the playoffs has unleashed. Prime amongst which is the projected gate income, to which Ferres will have had to take a big red pen.

While that may be true, the picture will surely be much clearer now, and in any case I would have hoped they've sat in a board meeting and actually discussed this scenario already.

Maybe as a business the club is doing ok? Who knows. We've been through financial hell prior to the relegation to the Championship and naturally we all assume the worst.

However our average attendance for the season is over the magic 4000 this season which I remember Marc Green saying in one of the initial sign up meetings was required. Perhaps the actual number required is a little less than that? In negotiations of any kind no one ever reveals the true figure that is acceptable to them.

The hospitality suite always seems full and we have a lot of sponsors/associated companies now. The hospitality bit also seems to do a bit of non-Bulls related business too. I'm sure we make a good amount from the four replica jerseys released every year and all the other merch and then there is also Bulls TV, Lottery etc.

If you factor in that we have had 40 first teamers on the books this year and quite a lot of those are our ex super league squad who will be on a fair chunk and are probably leaving then maybe the shortfall from the central funding won't be that hard to make up?

None of us know but Marc Green doesn't seem like the sort of guy to me that would take gambles. He said he would run it as a business and I'm sure that involved doing a worst case projection of not making the 8's. I was at the game so didn't listen but I saw a post somewhere detailing Marc Green's spot on BCB today where he apparently said that next years squad is sorted.

Oh and we've been relegated to the Kingstone Press Championship Super 8's section of the forum now too.

I'd say humiliation complete but I'll save that for when we don't make the final by losing to Dewsbury at home in the play off bit of the competition.

Yep, all points carry over so I think us and Fax only have to win 2 of 7 to be in the top 4 play off.

Then 1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd and the winners go to the final. Or something like that.

chuff me there's play-offs. Why prolong the misery. Why not just give the mickey mouse cup to whoever finished top (or 5th as it were)

Sorry but if we make the final then who would really go? I'm not forking out yet more money for the club "celebrating" absolute failure. I'd rather watch our U19S in the play-offs. Least they have a bit of pride.
