| I was going too suggest turning off auto spelling.....but I suspect that might not have been the problem!
As for Jarrod, I reckon the club need to come clean as that's the second 'sighting' very recently. If they don't get it announced they'll be overtaken by events at this rate.

I've heard he has taken a job as a milkman in the close season.

| It'd be nice to hear that he'd signed for someone. Regardless of whether it's us or someone else. Just so everyone can stop speculating and stop banging on about him.

| Incidentally, Sam Bates tweeted earlier about being off to run some hills with Jarrod. That doesn't suggest he's signed for Bradford. If he had signed for anyone, that would suggest Dewsbury, but more likely he just hasn't for anyone yet and he's trying to keep fit.

| Just to bang on about him a moment longer, it does rather feel like I'm in some sort of alternative twilight zone reality where he inexplicably can't find a club. I mean seriously? Sure he has flaws but there's no way he should be without a club, it's absolutely bonkers.

Agreed. You wonder if perhaps there's something more to it (like his asking price is too much - pure guess by the way). I would think he would improve the squad of any current Championship team, with the exception of Leigh who have 3 top class halves already (and another out on loan).

Agree with that, though the problem may be that Jarrod would clearly want a full time gig and, to the best of my knowledge, there aren't many of those going begging right now. There is one club, quite close to home, with a half back shortage though. I've said before I'd be delighted to see him back so I won't say it again....Damn!

| I'm pretty sure that Sammut lives in the Gomersal area pretty close to Tong. I was up at the school on Saturday morning and there are loads of different classes going on for the general public. It may sound crazy, but perhaps he was there for something other than to train with the Bulls squad.
As for him not having a club, I think that he's had surgery on both of his wrist in the off season and is currently out of action. I'm not sure on the extent of the injuries but maybe it's connected to his current availability (if he is actually available)?

| He's either available or signed with a part time club. No other reason he'd be doing his own hill training with another part time player on a Tuesday morning.

| My main gripe is that he supposedly met with Jimmy last summer, and was either deemed not good enough to help us with the playoffs or we couldn't fit him under the cap (although the timing of Matt ryan joining us would be interesting). A sammut/gaskell partnership in the MPG would have been much more fun. We probably would still have lost, but more entertainingly....
But now, 6months have passed, and he is suddenly good enough for us again....

That's my opinion too, more or less. You never know with Jarrod, he's so off the cuff he could have won the game for us or gifted Wakey a couple more tries....you just never know.
I do know he's one of those precious few players who makes the pulse race, who does those amazing, totally unexpected things which leave you open mouthed, and who fill you with anticipation - sometimes, not [iexactly[/i fulfilled, of course but ultimately he's one of those individuals who make RL such an exciting game to watch.

| Let's face it. If he joined he'd be better than our last halfback.
He has his faults but beggars can'tbe choosers.

Best not to accuse him of being 'off the cuff'! That was suggested to both Paul Rowley and Rangi Chase in interviews for LCTV, about Chase's signing. They both came up with the same answer of him always playing 'within a structure' and being allowed to express himself within that structure. Chase, in particular, wasn't amused at being called an 'off the cuff' player!

Well that would make sense as I don't think that he's been able to drive since his wrist operations so getting to Workington wouldn't be possible. That would also explain why he has been training locally on his own (hill running and possibly Tong school).

| Last I heard was Phil Vievers say he was confident of keeping Sammut at Workington but as of mid November he hadn't signed for the club. Surely if he'd signed for next season this would be big news and Workington would be keen to publicise it. If only Jarrod would give us an idea and put an end to the speculation....as a Bulls fan I'd love to see him back at the club, but I guess we can only wait and see....

If he's had both his wrists operated on, perhaps he is currently physically incapable of signing anything?

Another way of looking at it is that perhaps Jimmy has had a reality check in that we are not as good as he thought

| I'm certain Jimmy knows the pros and cons of the squad, but brainfart after the last game excepted, he generally plays a straight bat and keeps to the company line with his comments. At the end of the day, the big challenge right now is selling memberships and that means saying how well everything is progressing and what a great squad we've amassed etc etc.
Add in that he can't comment on any ongoing, or not finalised deals, for fear of losing them at the last minute - plus they probably [well, I hope.. want another big spur to sales, and despite what others have said previously, Sunday - collection day- would be an ideal time.

| It seems to have gone quiet on Godinet. I am not sure who I would prefer. Godinet would possibly be a player who sticks to a game plan and can guide a team whereas Sammut can be unpredictable for a SH. Having both would be nice with Godinet on the bench for interchange. I haven't heard if Godinet has signed for anyone. If not, it is strange that two decent halves are currently without a club and effectively unpaid. I just can't see that so they both must be lined up somewhere and just waiting for announcements to help ST sales - but that must be soon to help with Christmas ST sales.
I expect an announcement any day now. If nothing before Christmas I and many more will be disappointed.
Leigh could be a stronger force next year and it could be very hard to get that £1m spot again. If they are, we might be better than this year and still not get that play off spot. If we could afford it I would sign both Sammut and Godinet as the rest of the team looks decent if we keep Mullaney and Nielsen?

And yet I was told the other day that he's not involved in pre season training.
Haven't seen it with my own eyes, but the person that told me doesn't usually get things wrong.
Maybe just that he's coming back from Oz later than others, or it may be there's something to those rumours.
