| Officially announced as signed now. Ties in with tahroui's departure. Don't think we'd be announcing signing if winding up order was anything other than a mistake

Well the penny finally seemed to drop with Lowes last week when he said he wouldn't flog O'brien as much and he would look at his interchanges. Horse bolted springs to mind as the fans said this in June.
Decent signing. Can't be any worse than Lauaki, still only 22, former junior kiwi and won't count on quota list.

| Let's hope he gets a fair go
You'd like to think he'll challenge for a bench spot against Lauaki and Crossley - rather than being shipped out on loan like Flemming and Taharoui

| Well from the highlights video this looks like a cracking signing - he runs the ball up with some intent, unlike the plodders we persist with in Crossley and Lauaki. He's also young and doesn't count on the quota.
Any chance we could pinch their other prop Groat from them? Has he been signed up yet?

Groat has joined Dewsbury.

Ha yes it wasn't really insider knowledge, just somebody who knows him, who's friends with a woman who's daughter goes out with my lad. Straight forward really isn't it

| Don't know much about him, just hope the club have done their homework a little better than some of our other recent 2 year wonder signings. Remains to be seen whether he can step up to the level of lower end SL which is what I feel we need in that position.

Well, he's young enough - and there must be some innate quality, after all, you don't get to play for the junior Kiwis unless you're pretty good to start with.

| Didn't Siejka play for the Junior Ausies?
There are decent players in the championship if you are smart enough to find them and then develop them. SL have a few very good players who were picked up from there.
It can happen. Lets hope he is one of them.

We'll have to wait and see if this is a good signing I guess, but I was hopeful for Davis/Fleming/Tahouri as well....

| Look at the signings Wakefield have made,Ben Jones Bishop,LIAM FINN,ANTHONY ENGLAND,2 from THE NRL--TUPOU/ARONA--We have no chance of competing come the middle 8..
From Caisley onwards they should be horse whipped imo for what they did at the BULLS.
Ferres, the Burgess boys,Whitehead,Bateman, they could all still be wearing the BULLS shirt if those clowns hadn't have ruined the club.
Fooooking disgrace imo.

| This just underlines my point that the only reason we could (and should) have got promotion was the freak circumstance of Wakefield being in total disarray, and that won't happen again until some other club has a Bulls style meltdown. Unless they do, promotion isn't realistic and anyone who says it is, can I have some of whatever you're on.

Wouldn't we need to see the system operate more than once to categorically state this? Possibly even under circumstances where the Championship team in the MPG turned up with a scrum half, a bench hooker and in slightly better form than a team on £300k cap (Halifax)?
Had we failed admirably, you might have a point. We didn't. On and off the pitch we looked like we hadn't the foggiest and judging by the pronouncements of Ferres and Lowes, little has changed.

Going by Wakefield's board, they had about 8 players still under contract after the MPG, it's no surprise that they're bringing in a large number of signings because without them, they'd not have enough players to put out a team. They're still odds on for the wooden spoon because the other teams above them last year were already stronger sides and will be even more so come next year. There's also the question of how much squad depth will they have because, although they're opperating under SL rules, there's no way in hell they've got enough money coming in to pay for the full salary cap

| Under the terms of the new contract the annual payment to Super League clubs will rise to £1,825,000 per club, which will just about cover the salary cap.

Wakefield will be spending significantly more this year than last. Also probably more wisely with BS as coach. Michael Carter is a good businessman and has steadied Wakefield. They won't overspend by any means, but I doubt they will be too far of the SC. Either way they will be spending a lot more than us

Hopefully quality signings. I keep saying it, but if we can just get a top drawer 7 and big aggressive prop, we'll certainly challenge. We've some decent young players. We were let down by certain individuals and the coaches rotational policy.
if we just bring in players who don't really add to te squad I.E Crossley, Mendieka etc than we can forget even challenging for MPG.
