Do we know yet
a) whether Addy, Olbison (or others?) are crocked?
b) Who, if anyone, is going to end up before the disciplinary as a result of yesterdays brawl being put on report?
c) if any of the seven injuries from before yesterday are likely to be fit? (Ferguson, Blythe etc)
All of which makes it tough to name a 17 - or even know if we will have 17 lol

| Lowes mentioned on Radio Leeds that Addy tweaked his hamstring (I think) and would likely be out a few weeks.

| That being said then id go with. (baring any bans)
Mullaney
Uaisele
Purtell
Ulugia
Henry
Gaskell
Seijka
Sidlow
O'Brien
Clough
Pitts
Walshaw
Walker
Tahraoui
Lauaki/Fleming
Halafihi
Mellor
But these depends on who is still fit and who may cop a ban (thinking Williams may)

| Fitness and injury (and potentially suspension) dictates our squad selection already which is inconvenient.
My first choice 17 would be:
Mullaney
Uaisele
Purtell
JPB or Walshaw (fitness concern)
Williams
Gaskell
Seijka
Sidlow
O'Brien
Clough
Pitts
Olbison (injury concern)
Walker
Tahraoui
Lauaki (fitness)
Ferguson (injury)
Mellor

| Disciplinary for the Championship is usually a week on Tuesday after the game so unless its changed it will be the following week where your players will face suspension from yesterday.

| I think Siejka & Williams will cop a ban, i think Addy will definitely be out, (with such big squad, Lowes won't risk even the slightest hamstring niggle) I presume Olbison will be out too as he didn't come back on yesterday either.
1. Ulugia
2. Uaisele
3. Shaw (Didn't go to Leeds game but by all accounts he was dodgy under high ball so i would put him centre than wing)
4. Purtell
5. Henry
6. Gaskell
7. Mullaney
8. Sidlow
9. O'brien
10. Clough
11. Pitts
12. Walshaw
13. Walker
14. Halafihi
16. Tahraoui
16. Mellor
17. Bates/Lauaki
Round 2 and we could have 10 players unavailable! Would be tempted to give Bates a go ahead of Lauaki. Don't need to rush players in to action.

Actually a very good point. I wonder if they've changed that now with the new system? If not, it's going to look a little daft if come Super 8s, the goalposts move for some teams. Or even worse if Championship teams wait a week for theirs, but their opponents in the Super League get theirs immediately.
You would hope common sense says Championship disciplinaries are done at the same time now. But RFL and Common Sense go together as much as me and salad.

| All I will say is that, 'first choice', teams will go out of the window in many of these games. Any player who isn't 100% shouldn't play - end of. These games are why we have a big squad and team selection should be used to ensure we have a fit and raring to go 'first choice', come the middle eights.

| Lauaki out for at least another week, Jimmy said the other day (Fitness Level)) Rotate the players for this one and get some new faces in and see how they go out of training and into a competitive arena. I think it will be a high scoring one sided affair really.

| I think we need to try and develop some cohesion in defence so I wouldn't chop and change too much if I could avoid it.
I'd put Walker in the back row at 13 esp if Addy and Olbison are out.

| I'd agree that the odd partnership needs to settle a bit, so I'd expect say, Siejka and Gaskell to get some more time together as they are going to be crucial later on. With such a big squad it's going to be hard to keep everyone fit, to be honest.

| Is it me or is there a lack of info around injuries? Ferguson ? Blythe ? Peterson ? Even Baille was described as a hamstring pull after Cas game, we all knew that but nothing further. Davies is on crutches, in-growing toe nail or cruciate? Fleming ? Any more I have missed?

I'd expand that and keep the spine of the team the same. Mullaney-Gaskell-Siejka-O'Brien. I can understand replacing players in other positions, but those 4 need plenty of game time playing together to get cohesion.

I agree
Think T&A said Davies was torn ligament - which could be serious or not. Baille was pulled hamstring, didn't seem long term. And assume Ferguson is the ever-present back trouble, but that's just assumption
No idea on Fleming, Blythe or Peterson - or how long they might be out

| I don't think this is the time to rest players as we have only just started the season and we need a team that can play well to gather to chop and change now will only cause problems later on.

| Just seen the players comments on Bulls TV. They know they blew it and know why. That is really positive. If I was Jimmy I would be a lot more confident about things moving forward than before the leigh game.
The team can come out on Sunday and put some wrongs, right.
Zapperbull- Don't you think that some rotation is needed to keep players sharp, we have a big squad and we do not want to have players getting disillusioned and going off mentally in training.
If we are able to play our better players on a two week rotation and have a "MAIN SQUAD" built out of the form players for the really tough games?

| Whitehaven are currently without a coach after Steve Deakin quit a week before the start of the new season. They are currently being player coached by Brett Seymour. Other than that I know very little about this team.

Seem to be in turmoil at the moment - reportedly couldn't raise a team for one of their pre-season games and Barrow beat them by about 40 in another. You'll win very comfortably on Sunday - even 'Fax won up there last weekend - although you have got another 'inexperienced' Championship ref to contend with, just in case Mr Lowes needs any excuses!
Fantastic to see so many Bulls fans at ours last Sunday ( ) - you'll probably notice the difference in away support next weekend!

Milketaurus whilst i agree we do need rotation, at this early stage i believe at this early stage we need to get a team playing well together, then as the season progresses it is easier to slot players in to rest others.

I guess my view is that the gym etc is one thing. Performing in competition is quite another. I would be more generous in accommodating the "Show me why I should pick you?" That will clearly buy into the philosophy that every player has an opportunity.
