Sheffield much prefer a big pitch with an excellent surface. They will be much more dangerous at the Keepmoat, than at their Owlerton stadium.

That and Owlerton was a horrid place to watch rugby, made the Don Valley look like Wembley

As far as I know, yes it does.

In a strange way I was looking forward to going to Owlerton, entirely due to having been there several times in the long and [very distant past watching speedway back in the sixties and seventies. Long ride it was, through Huddersfield and Penistone, IIRC I suspect the new arrangements may be for the better though..there's even a motorway now..

I thought I heard someone promising on the news that all RL grounds in the North were to be linked by a new super doper High Speed Rail link?

Don't think Bradford is included. It seems to be Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, York and Newcastle - with the country's fourth largest metropolitan authority very conspicuous by its absence in all the publicity. Think we may see the route to Sheffield via Penistone as being far more use than this rail 'link' - even if we do have to go straight past Owlerton.. though, that said I've not heard about any fixture list rumours for 2033

We haven't got a railway going through Leigh, thanks to Dr Beeching. Apparently, it's the largest town in the country without a station. And W***n has two - life's just not fair at times!

and pontefract has 3 railway stations , i was looking forward to a trip to sheffield ,should be a intresting mix with the halifax fans ,
