Walker actually played very well at 13 last season before he got injured and then wasn't the same. He did look good in those first few games so with Addey we should be fine at 13.

So the club announced different numbers at the presentation night, than they did in the e-mail and press release?

Wow that's amateur. I defend the club a lot, and even I can't pretend that's not a bit of a balls up.

They played in different numbered shirts in the friendly, so that helped.

They pretty much used to normally play in the old shirts until the season proper started so I don't think we can take any clues from that.

Got to say though, since getting the email from the club and then seeing posts from people who attended the presentation night - I haven't a clue what the numbers are....

I'd much rather we just scrap squad numbers all together.

So...they still have the 2013 numbers on the website, but they've held a shirt presentation and sent an email with different numbers to season ticket holders. However, my question is, 'does anyone actually know what the real squad numbers are'?

Somebody clearly works on the Bulls site, as it (for example) soon changed with the First Utilities sponsorship, and I can't for the life of me understand why first team squad, which is after all and by a long chalk the Number One whole bleedin point of the enterprise, is wrong. Poor old Garreth Carvell, for example, isn't even in our squad, if anybody looked.

It's pretty poor, and if I'm honest, a bit of an insult to both players and fans, especially when we have much less fundamental stuff - like the spin about the SL sponsorship deal - being put up.

Trouble is I've also got the "correct" squad numbers in a mail from the Bulls and it has a number of differences to yours, and whilst I'd guess that your list - from the shirt night - is going to be correct since they, presumably, must have done the shirts to match, but it would be nice to have it confirmed. Y'know, sort of like the left hand and right hand were in synch..

Lol to be fair at the shirt presentation they werent even given individual shirts with their numbers on - it was one shirt Franny had and just kept holding up for pictures with the players when the number was announced (the number just appeared with the players name on a projectir screen behind the stage)

I don't think this will work. I mean, it will save on printing costs, sure, but even with powerful projectors, fans might have difficulty in seeing the numbers clearly on a sunny day. Plus you would need a lot of projectors, and operators.

Wonder if they haven't actually got the player shirts yet, which are a higher quality than replicas we buy. This would explain both not having shirts printed at presentation evening and also using last years kit on Sunday, which is a practice we haven't done for a few seasons now, although it used to be the norm. Players kits will have all sponsors just announced on them so maybe they were delayed whilst sponsorship deals were being finalised?.

Did you actually attend the game on Sunday. The club played in the new shirts and then had the photo shoot on Monday, it was on Look North. The Squad numbers are on the website. On the news page under Cummins announces Squad Numbers. What more do you want. The reason they wont be on the squad page will be because they wont have had the pics from the photo shoot yet.

My eyes must be getting bad. Looked like last years away shirt from where I was sat. If this years away shirt is very similar to last years away shirt that would explain why there have been rumours of RFL having a problem with it.

Indeedy do. Starting at FB, did you think that Brett Kearney, resplendent in his new No. 1 shirt, has a whole new look? Seemed like a different player to me. As did Luke George, wearing 20. In fact, he'd shrunk and gone blond. Amazing.


"What more do we want"? Er, the squad to be on the squad page! It ain't rocket science. And you wouldn't need any pictures from any photoshoot. Until you get them, just yer actual squad would do fine. They could even have copy and pasted it.

Your suggestion is so lame it's embarrassing. On the "news" page there's a menu of about 20 items and "Cummins confirms squad numbers" is somewhere amongst that lot, are you seriously suggesting that this is enough to compensate for the fact that there is no mention of this on the actual Squad page?

Anyway, as you seem to be in the know, can you clear another thing up for me. In Franny's stated confirmation, it says that Danny Addy is number 16. yet at the presentation evening he got presented number 17.

What more do I want? Well, maybe we could start with the answer to that?

I also thought that the new shirts looked awful. As I predicted when they were released, from any distance you just don't get any sense of red and amber being important at all, they all blur into a sort of dark purple stripe look; and from the back, they are basically just plain white. Worst looking kit for ages. Ok for casual wear but as a team strip I hate it.

Hate to agree but up close it looks brill, but during play it just looked like black and white bands, couldn't make out the red or amber, I do like it and it's by no means a horrid kit just doesn't look right during the match from a distance.

I'll settle for them getting as far as wearing any Bulls shirt at all. We still haven't made the start of the season yet.
