| Cummins message to the players according to the T&A today.
A good stance for the head coach to take IMO

| Should get his own "family" in order first. Disko looks like he's smuggling one of the old style Tilly's under his shirt !!

Diskin has had a great season. He'splayed with a torn pec since Heath was injured and broke his hand last Saturday. He's not likely to be as fit as he was a few years ago but he is very, very good at what he does. His attitude is first class and he is definitely THE Captain. He never shirks anything and, unlike some, always gives his all for the team, injured or not.

Calm down Mrs Diskin.
Don't think anyone doubts diskins toughness or his commitment. Not sure he would agree that he's had a great season by his own standards. Notice how you didn't actually address the previous posters point, which has been raised by plenty of fans this season.

That he looks overweight.
Noones expecting him to be as 'fit' as when he was winning titles with Leeds. He doesn't have an athletes shape, and I'm not expecting him to start looking Sammut, but I don't think anyone can deny it looks like he's carrying a few extra pounds.

| "Diskin has had a great season" ?????!!!! Do you go to games? We are significantly quicker and more dangerous when Heath and O'Brien are on the field. How he got a new contract is beyond me. I just hope this doesn't result in O'Brien getting itchy feet.
MD is carrying a stone too much timber at least, many times he can't get to the ruck in time. I'm a big supporter of FCC, but I have to say I can't see the logic in giving Disco a new contract whilst O'Brien sits in the stands (unless it looks / looked like Heath was going)

So wrong on so many levels, it's hard to know where to start.

Its a team game. Diskin (and Scruton and Langley and all those other permanently injured players that cannot make 5cms a carry so should be got rid of RIGHT NOW end quotes) does the dirty work first stint against a fresh attack and defence so that Heath (10kg lighter) can come on and do the eye candy stuff with Nas and all those other flash harrys.
In which case Heaths stats should be better than Diskins as Heaths usually up against more tired players. But they are not. So Diskin is actually the better player. 3 tries to nil this season, more tackle busts against fresh first line defence, etc etc.
As for the idea that Obrien at 20kg lighter should do the first stint instead of Diskin, what sort of a dumb idea is that? Let me think, I am an 18 stone experienced prop, who am I going to run at, another 18 stone prop or an 11 stone midget that I could squash with one foot? You just about saved yourself with the qualification "if Heath was going" which is a possibility at the end of his contract and gives O'brien more time to develop into Heaths role. Diskin carrying on for one more year gives time to look at a successor in the Cunningham/Newton mould.
For the sake of clarity, your idea was dumb, not you, you are usually a lot better than that. I think you got caught up in the suggestion earlier in the season that we didnt need at least 5 props, we needed bucket loads of centres instead. A nice idea but totally impractical if the opposition stick to their props.

| If you're referring to me, I've never discussed the centres / props chat my friend.
I still stand by the essence of my post, Diskin is seriously over weight for a professional sportsman

| Diskin does look to have a gut but you can't argue with Martin's point about him being on the field against fresher players.
O'Brien does look a little lightweight in the tackle at times but he's young and will hopefully get stronger. IMO Conroy was more impressive in this respect versus Hudders, albeit against a tired team of kids.

| O Brien is small, but he hits hard. The few times I've seen him play this season, he's put a couple of crunching tackles in. I was quite pleased with what I saw from both Adam and Nathan last week. Hopefully in a few years they will both be our regular hookers.

Be careful what you wish for I am sure Mr O'Leary would think that was a perfectly sensible suggestion!

Actually, his passengers are already very slim, it's all their holiday clothing wrapped around their bodies which makes them appear overweight. To get round this I understand Mr O'Leary is considering a charge of £10 per pocket on jackets and trousers and a special one-off charge of £40 quid for cargo pants...

More worryimg is that in the event of cabin depressurisation its £1m for oxygen - or you take a very deep breath. Which when you think about it is a good reason to keep fit and maintain good lung function which almost comes back to the topic of the thread! Stay fit or die
