| Oh dear. Slipping that one in amongst the good news are we?
I suppose it could be at a substantially reduced wage and involve responsibility beyond the pitch. On those terms it's not too bad, but we seem to stop when he's on the pitch - all he does is try to win penalties around the ruck.

| The wording of the article that accompanies the news has left me slightly perturbed. In it Cummins talks about the culture of the club being influenced by guys like Diskin and Walker, and you have to worry that this could be a little bit of "jobs for the boys" given that the article suggests he's reliant on old Leeds boys.
You have to wonder if this may be causing a them and us style spilt in the dressing room.

| I hope this isn`t one of the pieces of good news!!!!! This won`t sell season tickets.Even worse the T&A article refers to Heath maybe going back to the NRL.
Disco`s been a good player but he is now over the hill, now he slows us down when on the field.

How perceptive.Now we're getting somewhere
Yes,us and them could be very close.
Both Walker and Diskin should have been shown the door imo if we are serious about going forward as neither can now hack it at top level.
I would rather have Lowes/Robbie paul in charge.

| I read the article as basically saying heath is off and next year it's OBrien and diskin. But saying that earlier this year when the heath to Catalans rumors were going around he said on twitter he is a bull for another year . But I suppose that means nothing really.

| The deal offered to him was 50% less than what he was on on the original 3yr deal he came on.
Its a very good contract club wise as it gets rid of one of our biggest earners but keeps the experience at the club. We cant let them both go. I would have preffered Le'Strange as he has been better than Diskin for the last 3 years
Im looking forward to the 2 or 3 quota spots we are going to have avalible. We just need to know what Purtell has decided now. I heard yesterday we are looking at a centre from Cronulla called Pomeroy. Dont know how true it is though.

| The only reason I can see Diskin being retained is that the club know that Heath is leaving at the end of the year.

| TBH I don't think Diskin is half as bad as some make out. He's had some unimpressive games this season but so has L'Estrange. The main priority should be keeping O'Brien happy as he's the future.

| FC actually makes reference to Diskin being a good defender, which is worrying because Diskin is far from it. Hanbury's first try on Sunday being a prime example of his 'defending'.
Still, I can't blame Heath for wanting to go back home to raise his child. I wonder what the clause is in his contract exactly, could we be looking at another transfer fee? Not sure the aussies will pay too much because transfer fees actually count towards the salary cap over there.

It's depressing enough this morning with this news, without you adding to it

| Im getting the bad feeling the Leeds old boys are being taken on and can do no wrong in the managers eyes.
Just watched the "highlights" of the widnes game and our defence is terrible, no structure and no real power behind our defending hits, hope it gets sorted.
Wouldnt pick disko over Heath in a month of sundays, he may have more experience but i think he is to slow when we need speed from dummy half.

Rhinos fans are having the same view of their ex-Bradford coach.

| If, as it seems, Heath is on his way, then I understand giving Diskin another year. He may not be in the form of his life, but he's pretty reliable.
I think that he's a player that plays well when the forwards are making ground. He's the type of hooker that loves running at a defence that's on the back foot, and playing off the back of a quick play the ball. I'm afraid he hasn't got the players around him at the moment to play to his strengths. If we can add some more grunt to the pack on top of Carvell then next year could be a different story.

| I wasn't impressed when I saw this first thing this morning. But, if L'Estrange is on his way as the rumour mill suggests, it turns into not a bad move IMO.
Disko isn't exactly in the form of his life, but we do need someone with his experience to bring O'Brien on and frankly, if we did sack Diskin off, who else are we going to get to do the job? We'd run the risk of either A) Just having O'Brien or B) Having him and someone who's not going to help him develop.
I would have prefered to have had L'Estrange and O'Brien for next year, but if that's not possible, this isn't the worst alternative in the world.
