He did get punished. He got a caution. Did you not read that bit?

Think we have difference that whiteheads was accidental and he let JJB go so that he didnt do any damage he seemed to land on his shoulder mostly, whereas Bailey seemed intentional.

I actually feel his 4 games is a bit harsh to be honest. But then I think the 1 game bans being handed out for a few handbags are also ridiculous. The dust ups are part of why I love the game, if they clean the game up too much they'll lose my interest.

Our players will have to watch out for any illegal shoulder charges then. Deserves the 4 games he's been given.

Completely agree. Other sports (Ice Hockey) embrace a bit of biff whereas RL seems to want to clear the game of anything that might be 'dangerous'. Don't get me wrong there is a line that needs to be drawn and knocking somebody's head off deserves punishment, but RL is a hard game played by hard men and I don't think you'll find any RL supporter that would want that watered down.

Indeed. And long may it remain so. Cheap shot, late hit and stiff arm merchants are not within the definition of "hard men" but "cowards", though. What on earth is "hard" about either of Bailey's efforts that he was up for?

Bailey is a cheap shot merchant, always has been, always will be.
He picks his targets quite well though. I can't remember a time when he has had a go at the likes of big Joe or even somone like Gaz Hock.

Why some opposition fans get so wound up about Bailey is beyond me. I think that is only his second red in a long career. For a front row forward that is so mild it's almost an offence in itself. My biggest concern is that he has never kicked on from destroying the Aussies as a junior. Last season he started to show latent promise but has been back to average this season. The actual offence against Cats I thought was not worthy of a red. It was late in that he couldn't pull out of contact but could have lessened the intensity of it (sounds familiar). The officials both said contact with the head which I disagree with. It wasn't a shoulder charge either, it was front on but without the arms eneveloping the player. It smacks to me of the RFL finally having enough of hearing about Bailey's reputation.

He makes for a good pantomime villain but he's hardly a ehouse of old. That he has the status that he does shows how much the game has been cleaned up for me.

You'd think Bailey was the new Kelvin Skerrett the way some people react.

For those that never saw Kelvin put his name into You Tube and enjoy.

Another one who failed to reach his full promise IMO.
