Gavin Wilson from Love Rugby League indicated on Twitter this afternoon that the players were all upset about something.

This was only from their Tweeting, but does anybody have any (specific) idea why - I've stopped following them all some time ago as I no longer want to hear about BOOM Costa and Smashing Nandos etc.

I saw what Whitehead put this afternoon, it's been deleted since.

Something along the lines of 'What a fu***n set of idiots, i know i'm swearing but i don't care'

I'm just looking through the rest of the players and some of them do put some 'code' insults online. Donaldson for example - "Let the bell see the end..!" direct quote

Apparently Nandos were out of giant Coke & mega fries.

Or, possibly, not being paid - at least according to Sky Sports News.

Ouch - I completely feel for the players and staff at this time.

Although I can understand why the players are upset the anger at BG could be a little uncalled for. This depends an awful lot on the content of the email – which, as it has not been released, is mainly speculation at this point.

Was the email:

“Just letting you all know that you won’t be being paid this month”

This is total unacceptable

Was the email:

“I regret to inform you that last minute talks with the RFL to agree payment of the wages have broken down, as a result alternative arrangements will have to be made and payment will be delayed until the 15th August at the latest”

This email – although not ideal – is perfectly acceptable considering the complexity of administration, having been through one myself (as an employee) I was often paid a day or 2 late at the last moment, as long as it is explained that payment will be coming you have to accept that when you work for a company in administration.

It is highly likely that the administrator was holding talks to get payment from the RFL (who, rightly or wrongly have agreed to ensure that all players wages are paid) right up until the last moment – and that if these talks failed they had no further time to sort something out for payment today.

Depending on the content of the email this could indeed be a non story, the first email is of cause a story but something along the lines of the second is the definition of a non story.

Try telling that to people who have direct debits and standing orders coming out on the normal payday!!!

It might be petty cash to Guilfoyle; to some of the players, especially the youngsters who it seems have been repeatedly ignored as it is (and the handful of staff being paid), it could be considerably more serious.

Students of management and leadership, take note: another example of how to mnake an unfortunate situation far worse by dreadful choice of words.

Given the fact that everything has been anything BUT normal recently, I would have thought that the players would maybe have taken steps to either cancel these or transfer them to another account for the time being.

Throughout this whole ordeal, certain actions (by BG) has made me wonder if he is intentionally pi**ing off the players, so that they become less motivated to continue with their work.

The first thing I thought when I found out about the wages, was the impact it would have on individuals who had set up their direct debits to come out on 'pay day'.

Whatever the reason BG/RFL have, it's not fair on the players and staff!

By "cancel" - do you mean cancel their mortgage?

By "transfer them to another account" - do you mean they should transfer it to their account that holds 'loads of money'?

Unfortunately it's how things go. I've been in there position and it was 65 days not one. As for communication from the administrator I saw him twice in that time.

Are the Bulls players, even those "contracted" beyond the end of the 2012 season able to negotiate with other clubs due to going into administration?

the RFL did state that all players could look to seek employment with other clubs for next season when the SLE bid was tabled, not sure if that still stands.........

Think the actual statement was players could talk to other clubs once the SLE bid was accepted rather than when it was tabled. Mention was made of the following week but then it was expected that guilfoyle would just accept the bid which he hasn't done.
