Lots of worried fans - again and none of us really know what is going on over and above HMRC are after us either for upaid taxes or tax they are worried about collecting and that expect income and cashflow dont cover outgoings for the rest of the season.
But the BoD have a professional report which will list all existing debt and obligations and future requirements.
So lets be having it and the fans can judge if they want to help further with the real facts to hand. I would help again if I could see what exactly I was funding.

I think the BoD are playing a very difficult game of chess, a hasty move or revealing their next move would be foolish at this time.

Honesty from the current Bod

To be honest relic, I think it's marginally unrealistic for us to expect a statement of intent or unmasking of their plan. You don't reveal your tactics in rugby, chess, snooker, courtship or business. Wearing our heart on our sleeve doesn't pay the bills however emotionally comforting it may be.

I very much doubt it is purely a case of isolating debt v revenues, because that formula is inherently simplistic. What is more time consuming is determining how to grow the business given varying constraints and debts which may be in place as a result of where we are and how we got here.

Similarly, the fans have been asked for too much too often to the point of taking the p!ss. The very heartbeat of the club, the supporters, shouldn't be made to feel onerous or guilty in all of this mess and I would hate for the club to take that stance once more. A strong, effective and actioned business strategy (post creditors agreement and the necessary legal processes) is the only thing to salvage us from this complete utter balls up.

Most things in life and business are actually quite simple - if not easy to accept. Complexity - in business is a euphamism used by consultants to justify charging your for revealling the obvious - or by managers unable to make a decision

Sure if you were considering an "investment" or even just attaching your name to the club then you don't want to see it promptly go down the pan.

But as it stands the immediate problems at the club have come down to not having £1m. Another round of donations from fans both reduces the size of the basic problem and would help to convince potential "investors" that here is a club with a loyal and suportive following. But I don't think after the last donation in blind hope and faith you could do it again without putting the cards on the table.

The big choice going forward is how do you balance the wants of club and fans with how much you charge them and pitching the price at the level which maximises income.

Would fans want or be willing to fill that 7 figure gap, I doubt it nor should we be expected to. "Putting the cards on the table" could be completely contrary to common sense based on its potential adverse affect for the imminent plans.

I wouldn't imagine turnstile prices however will be the primary discussion point or revenue spiking exercise, since no business should be looking at purely a 12 day operational model based on the same fans with limited disposable income (increasingly so) being sole major or primary factors in a clubs year round revenue streams (and success).

What is clear, is after this mess is all sorted (we assume it will) the need to interact with fans and the general public in far more coherent, clear honest speak and in reality, more often. Reading Bulls-eye on the website and the same squad injury pieces in the T&A and Yorkshire Post is about 10% of what a modern day sports club should be indulging fans with.

I should have been clearer GB as a season ticket holder for rather more years than I would care to admit I tend to think of season tickets rather the turnstiles.
Though you could argue given recent experience that just having "payon the gate" admission would impose more disciplin on cash flow management as we seem to have been profligate with the season ticket windfall recently!

There is a difference between public and private honesty! The BoD will know honestly what is required and what honestly is the most likely outcome! they may decide when to share this with us, or whether to at all!

Hood was honest a couple of weeks ago when he refuted the claims of the current board regarding debt, and said the club wasnt in massive debt, but it had recieved an an advance on the clubs sky money! He was honest, but deluded! how can he expect us to take him seriuosly if he reaction to cash flow issues is to ask for next years money early? and what the hell were the RFL doing by believing him?

to me, the RFL are complicit in this mess. the licensing round 12 months ago allegedly scrutinsed our accounts and business plan. why didnt they spot the holes in it? why did they become part of the smoke and mirrors surrounding the lease sale.

We shouldnt be naive enough to expect honesty from club owners/ directors. BUt should a sports governing body allow itself to be party to this kind of thing?

We've been asking for the truth ever since the RFL got the ground....since then we have been fed story after story, the only time we'll know anything is when we turn to the back page of the T&A and we get one of two headlines, i.e "SAVED" or "DEAD"

TBH there's so much misinformation flying around at moment no-ones in a position to draw conclusions. Absolutely shocking way to run a business IMO.

I don't really have a problem with a lack of information. I can understand that the process of obtaining new investors or benefactors needs to be done discreetly. Also I'm not sure its wise to spell out to the nth degree who we owe money to, how much, how far in arrears we are etc.

All I ask is that when the Board have something to say they tell the truth.
