Can I suggest a way, for all those of us who are interested in Bulls getting through this situation, to show their support is to turn up to Odsal on Saturday for the first U18 Academy game of the season (playing Hull FC 12.30 KO)?

Bulls website mentions other activities planned "family fun day" in the Coral stand starting at 2.30 which would fall in after this game.

This would be the first opportunity after this came out to get together and show support.

It would be a massive boost to this youngest and least established set of players, who are going through the same thoughts as everybody else, to have as big a crowd as possible cheering them on.

This would also bring a bit of cash in in gate receipts, all is needed, and is a method of getting involved for those of you who need something tangible to give money for, ie the game itself.

If you agree this is worthwhile, turn up.

I know that season ticket holders get into the Academy games for free. I'm not sure if this is the case with U18's matches. Either way I'll pay to watch the game regardless.

Usually this would only get 50-100 fans. If there is going to be a lot more then the usual medical /sterwarding/ safety plans will need to be considered. Unfortunately there isn't really any ability to predict possible attendance at present.

There is adequate stewarding for this (more than this is catered for) and there is the organised event in the Coaral stand afterwards which is adequately stewarded.

Naughton looked very good indeed. His try from halfway was the highlight.

I also thought our hooker was very useful as were the number 10 and the two second rowers.

Hull seemed much bigger physically but couldn't get in our half much due to mistakes and ill discipline. However whenever they did they seemed to score. The Bulls had less size but were better disciplined and made fewer errors.

Well done for attending to all those who did, I guess the crowd was double what it usually is.

nice to know but dont remember him playing for northern thought he spent just about all his career at castleford

I remember him, his chant was awesome:

Not the most elegant, but easy to remember.

Tony played over 100 games for Northern between 1989-90 and 1993-4. I believe that he went on to have a couple of seasons with Dewsbury after that.

I think he went back to Cas' first before that.

I hope so, and will look forward to it. Doubt you'd recognise me now - all that going to the gym every day has gone a bit downhill in recent years (as many on here will gleefully testify), although I've started up in earnest again now, doubtless far too late!
