| First of all, massive well done to Sykesy.Came in for his first game of the season (probably knowing he'll be dropped next week when Sammut returns) and showed the kind of commitment that is a credit to him as a person.Defensively he was excellent and offered no small amount offensively, and that kick from Elliot's try really lifted the lads to have a lead to defend.Secondly the crowd, where have you been all season? The singing, the noise levels and the drummer,it was absolutely bloody brilliant.Just shows when we get behind the lads they respond!!Lets keep it up all year and maybe get louder and louder.Great night.

| Well done to the guy hes been made the scapegoat far to many times when the team has been poor but as a result of our problems he got the stick seems to give 100% when he gets the chance.
Where will he play though, unless he get bit of a run as we are playing salford next week and potter may rest sammut which seems abit daft we need to get some decent scores so we can overturn our -21 PD

| Hearing the Wakefield rumours again last night regarding Sykes. I thought he had a good game last night but I would think at this stage of his career he'd want regular 1st team Rugby. It's probably fair to say he isn't in Potters long term plans, though I rate him as a more useful squad player than Platty.

| im one of pauls biggest critics but he really stood up last night and his attitude was fantastic but i dont think he will be in potters long term plans and if wakey did come in for him it would be best for him at this stage of his career to go and be a regular for them in my opinion

I concour with what you said, think he will be much happier playing week in week out in a team that will more than likely be mid table that just coming of the bench every now and then for another mid table team

| The crowd comments i find a bit random, tbh. I've been going to Odsal since Adam wor a lad and nothing's changed, if the lads are all visibly putting it in for us on the field, we have always got behind them. I'll agree it's great to have the atmosphere back, and the big difference is it's suddenly great to be a Bull, again, because win or lose they are plainly out there to bust a gut, and we appreciate it. That's the reason.

| Well done psycho for once again putting your hand up to play out of position for the team. I've never doubted your commitment, hoefully last nights performance will help restore your shattered confidence.
On the crowd - I agree with Vark.

| I thought Sykes did pretty well last night - not brilliant but did what was required.
And I was one that was saying he should never be picked as a 6 ever again. So I'll hold my hand up and admit that Potter got that right, because disrupting the team by moving Kearney would have been a bad move (because he had a very solid game too)

This. He did try the X factor ball and did what was required of him. Very well played.

| I was one of the ones who would have preferred Addy at 6. Sykes proved me wrong. Solid performance, handled the pressure, no mistakes.
Sammut back in next week, but as Potter said in T & A, Sykes is a solid professional who can do a job for us when needed.

| Sykes hardly put a foot wrong.
It must help when you have a team clearly playing for each other, though.
But, after Sunday's performance, like the rest of the team he bows to no-one.

Yep. Earlier in the season it looked as though Potter was struggling to motivate the team. Now they're putting their ar$es on the line for each other and playing with the pride and passion expected from a Bull. We now know we have back up who can do the job to a high standard, and who'll still play with the same commitment. With Koppy, Kear, Gale, Langley, Olbison, O'Brien etc as options to come into the side, it feels alot more positive than it has done for a while. (I still hope i'm not dreaming with my new found ocnfidence in the side

Yep, it must be easier coming into a side that is playing for each other. He did decent job alright.
That said Sammut will be back in on Sunday IMO.

Certainly hope so lthough rumours I've heard are that Potters considering resting him for Salford game and continueing with Sykes. Could be a mistake IMO. Sykes did a job on Saturday but conditions played a big part. Our attacking options were decidedly limited and on a dry day don't think they would have been sufficient. Think we need Sammuts creativity back ASAP

| I agree. Sammut's had a week's rest and he's only played 6 games. As far as I know he's fully fit so resting him again is unnecessary.
