| Pack your bags & go! The guy is an utter buffon. Can't tackle, wants the ball every set of six like a spolit child. When he's suppose to be a dummy runner he comes in when he shouldn't and drops the ball. He is absolutely rubbish. It says something when the crowd are cheering when he goes off. He is an utter joke. But he will be playing next week because no coach dares drop him.

| He was very poor today. Hargreaves was worse - at least Langers was putting himself about, granted not in the right areas at times. Don't think I saw Scrutes do anything of note.

| Much obliged.
It's always good to know who the yearly scapegoat is going to be as early as possible, so thanks for the clarification. I can now boo the relevant player right from the opening whistle at Cas. May even supply some invective during the warm-up.

| Firstly I thought Langley was poor today, HOWEVER. He seemed to do an awful lot more than scruts and hargreaves who were invisable in a game when your props are needed. Id much rather a forward want the ball every set than hardly at all, and sadly we have a few in the pack who wont do the work.
When Whitehead and Elima return Id play Langley at prop and make scruts and hargreaves earn a spot, because atm they are walking in without merit imo

| Its what you get on here, pick on one player, hope all the other gobsh*tes hear you, then they all can have someone to bitch about, then they can say its all down to them why we are so crap, They don't have to look at the big picture then!
Happens every year, even without Platt and Sykes!

| Scaepgoating Langley is pointless. There were others who were as bad, if not worse
Scruton and Hargreaves are offering nothing in 'go forward' and invariably lose the collision. Sibbit is an honest workhorse who is out of his depth, and Burgess can't play for more than 15 minute cameo per game.
Picking up Langley is just plain wrong IMO

| I don't get involved in looking for scapegoats, I believe that any player donning the shirt should be given our support.
But I have long believed that Langley should be allowed no where near the Loose Forward spot, he could easily be the solution to our shortage of props, but is not a 13.
Who knows, a reduction in time on the pitch may lead to less injuries and a longer career.

| You can bet youre life Langley will have been in the top 3 for tackles, carries and metres. He missed a few tackles and dropped a few passes, but the Bulls are a hell of a lot worse when he is not on the field. Just a bad day at the office.
People want to criticise a few more that are consistently bad, i.e, Kearney, Hargreaves and Scruton, all three are a waste of space and money.

| How about now having a scapegoat and just getting behind the team and all the players instead ??
That might be a start !!!

Why not have this strange concept of the team giving us something to get behind.

| Is there no sign that Burgess will develop into a quality prop capable of more than a few minutes? I thought people said he had some good games last year. I seem to remember Paul Anderson was seen as basically a big useless lump after a while at Leeds, who got rid of him and then he actually developed into a far better player than expected. Having said that, I do think that props can be too big - extra size doesn;t make up for lack of mobility or stamina.

| Langley had a poor game but he never hid, he kept plugging away despite the dropped passes and the missed tackles. Some other forwards like Hargreaves and Scruton were just as conspicuous by the lack of impact. Scruton has struggled with injury and illness but really needs to re-capture past form and Hargreaves is just doing nothing. They need to improve, and quick.

| Langley didn't have a great game but wasn't on his own by any means. The pack need to start showing some agression and laying a platform. The backs look stronger this year but we won't see them do anything until the forwards get on top.
The scary thing is that we are supposed to be up to the salary cap and when I look across our squad I am struggling to find a 'class' player that stands out. At the minute there just isn't one. Hopefully yesterday was a blip but how many times have we heard that over the recent years?

So scoring a try makes up for the 90% of utter dross he served up. Statements like that is why we are where we are. Someone scores a try and some fans think he has had a good game. HE was awful in defence.
I don't care if he has the most carries in the game, it's what you do with the ball and every set of six Langley runs straight into the markers. If thats a good player then god help us. Just get some homeless guy to do that and offer a pound every time he runs the ball in. He'll have about the same impact Langley did yesterday.
What annoys me most is that he will be in the team every week. He has been made un-dropable by the choaching no matter how bad he plays
I am certainly not one of these fans who gets on the back of the players and moans at everything. I am a pretty optimistic fans. But when half the crowd are cherering when he is substitued says it all.
Some may call it scapegoats, others will call it picking out players no doing there job.
Scruton & Hargreaves can go into that catergory and Burgess needs some time on the tread mill as he looks very unfit.

| Well am sure he will unfortunately get injured again soon so i guess that solves the problem....
I am reluctant to give him such a hard time. Granted he didnt tackle well but other than Sammut, koppy and maybe kear not too many did much either!
Most importantly it was only the first game in bad conditions with numerous injuries against a very strong Catalan side that could be top 3 imo! Cas next week is the real test. They are a team we need to beat if we want the top 8! COYB!!

| Langley was poor by his standards but he's coming back from a nightmare period of injuries and needs time. It's odd there's a thread such as this when Ian Sibbitt made 13 metres from 3 carries.

| THe Dragons had a very good pre season despite some injuries, they were up to speed and the Bulls were not going to match them, the Hull hit out showed that. From a distance it was an expected result, but if they are still underperforming by early March it will be a long season! There will be a couple of key issues to address that will help, first as I've said in another post in the Teams mental fragility on the pitch not having confidence in themselves and each other, not wanting to make a mistake which is making them make mistakes. The second issue is keeping injuries down to a manageable level and not having so many mid to long term ones, its happening more because the Team is playing lopsided and a few players having to try a lot harder to make up for it tends to cause injuries to happen unnecessarily. Also harking back to a Wayne Bennett quote "the first battle to win is between your ears" Thats crucially one the Team is losing at present!
Hard as it is a present you have to believe (not hope) it will come right, but it will take time
