Morrison would bring so much more than just a player, get him signed up.

Huge mistake to let him go, paid a heavy price for our bizarre antics in the player market, him and especially Menzies being the world-class cockups.

I have a lot of sympathy with that sentiment. However, how much would you pay him? Say he wanted £250k p.a. would you pay him that? Given the little matter of a salary cap, which Hood said he expected we would be fully utilising? And who would go to accommodate?

he's interested in coaching too. that could well be something we could offer?

Morrison is exempt from non-fed trained quota due to already being here when the quota was introduced. he only needs a overseas quota spot. We currently have two of those free with neither sammut or lulia counting on overseas quota.
assuming sammut gets a dispensation we would still then have a full overseas spot available.
I'd give him a 1 yr deal playing with an assistant coaching role. Providing financial side could be made to fit under cap its a no brainer.

Maybe he would indeed - although any package would still probably be far from negligible, I suspect. But my point remains - we can't go round signing up people unless we have cap space (and quota slots) free, and they represent value for money, no matter how keen we are!

Remember that ALL of a player/coach's package counts under the cap. So I guess you'd need to cuat a deal where we agreed to pay him £5 a year for one year as a player, and he coaches for free. Oh, and someone loans him a decent amount of money to cover his living expenses etc. And then from year 2 onwards he gets £lots a year as a coach. Witha first-year "signing-on" payment that may or may not be not dissimilar to what he might otherwise have earned in the previous year as a player... To avoid cap problems. It must be possible - I'm sure Wigan and Deacs could give us some tips...?

I'm afraid to say it's a sad indicment of where we are as a club now, he would improve our squad.

he offers a lot of what our back row are missing - experience. There's only Sibbit and Langley that are over 25 in our back row and given they both don't play every game we could do with a bit more in the team.

Morrison would offer a lot both on and off the field.

As for his "stirring"? I some how doubt that as he was made vice captain after only a couple of days with the club. If he was causing the ruffling of some feathers behind the scenes, my money would have been because he was pointing out the players who weren't pulling their weight, something you could never accuse Morrison of.

I'd take him back on 1 year deal with him moving into a full time coach role at Bradford at the end of that year.

He's worth a 12month deal provided it doesn't take our last non fed quota spot. If Lynch goes we'll be sorely lacking in experience.

I was a big fan but he looked fairly ordinary in an admittedly awful Wakey at Leeds on Friday night.

Didn't look out of place in the Exiles game earlier this season.

As long as the terms made sense, especially in terms of tying up cap space and if the Lynch story pans out as I suspect most folk now anticipate, I could see little but positives in say a 12m deal.
