| Think we were still paying back Leeds for Harris. I think we actually paid the debt off a year early, which was a good move.
Running a club is not cheap and I would not have been surprised to see the funds used in the general running of the Bulls. Not a great business model, but it could have been used to bridge the deficit left by the pledge scheme (11,000+ fans signed up - not a massive income really).

| I think Hood detailed last year, the debt had been paid a year early - anyone that went to the fans forum, could you confirm?
Not saying the pledge thing is a definite but wouldn't surprise me.

| i know we are not in a position of strength but all monies raised from the sale of players should go straight back into the playing budget. from what we are led to believe we recieved in excess of 1/4million for burgess surely the last two years recruits would have cost less than this.

| Depending on the release criteria of Hall - we may have still paid a large sum this year which would have counted towards the cap., therefore the funds were not free to spend.
Orford - I would have expected him to be by far the highest earner, but wasn't there complications when he returned home, his manager stated he was owed money in bonuses - that may have hit us this year?
You don't know what the board are planning - they may want to place a roof on the main stand and there is a 'pot' of funds to help with this. I don't think anyone is fiddling, and trust them to do what is right.

dont know about money for sam, which was only rumoured to be about 200k, but the money we got for wardle, combined with george burgess fee was used to buy kyle briggs from featherstone.

You must be near enough the only person who does not know, then.
Caisley.
He "cohersed" him to sign, according to Darth Hetherington.
Unfortunately, despite being a lawyer, he subsequently had a little local difficulty with a series of interlocking contracts that Harris had signed with Leeds before he left, as a result of which the club came close to going down with a bad case of dead.
That was in the days before he spirited the brightest star of the club he still owns over a quarter of away to Oz.

dont think we can say one way or the other yet TBH. Think Potter is thinking a little longer term than we're giving him credit for in terms of halves. Sammut and jeffries as a quick fix next season both on one year deals but with gale and briggs in background as a longer term solution. Think this was reason for briggs going to quins on loan, to get a combination with gale going early. Didnt gale and briggs play together in leeds' academy?
Not saying whether I think their good enough to be long term solution as dont know enough about either just that its what I think Potters thinking is.

Ha, was thinking exactly that yesterday! Did they play together while Briggs was at Quins? I didn't notice at the time.

Not sure - but they certainly did play together for Doncaster a couple of seasons ago.

You mean Mick Potter has long term plans? That the rebuilding of the Bulls is going to take more than half a season follow 4 years of dismantling? You could be right there.
