| Ah Van, what a shocker.
An all round dumb performance with ball in hand, dropped way too much ball which probably cost us.

I think calling him a dud is a step to far.
He seems a completely different player in dry/warmer conditions but if he can't get his head around the british weather he could be a cause for concern.

I think more than halfway through the season with umpteen games under his belt then it is perfectly fine to offer that opinion. He has done some nice work for us, but I suspect he has cost us more with his errors than he has earnt with his positive contributions.

| I wouldn't keep ah van with him taking up a quota spot. No doubt he will get another contract mind. Just plain dumb rugby all second half. Langley didn't seem o have a clue half the time. I wouldn't say it was that bad a performance, just this was a game we really needed to win and had enough chances to.
Not happy with rhinos up next.

| 22 points. That's how many we squandered today. 2 missed kicks by Ah Van and 3 bombed tries.
Not the best performance today, a win would have made a top 8 finish an easier prospect. It's still possible but it's going to be up hill work til the end of the season

| How many points did we drop on the floor today?
The real battle was down the middle though. Hull got the quick play the balls and made metres for fun. In defence they were up in face before we knew what to do with the ball and won the collision time and again. Not only that but when we did win the collision it seemed to take and age for our players to get to their feet and actually play it. Prime example of he the body language gave them away was after Herbert's 40-20 in the first half. The players just strolled up to the scrum. You want to see them getting the scrum formed to get the clock stopped. From the body language of the players you'd think it was Hull who were chasing the game at that point.
We were second best right from the kick off today.
Also sick of Herbert being the scapegoat. He did well behind a beaten pack today. That cross field kick that Royston scored off in the first half was a thing of beauty. But let's drop the player that's created the most trys in the team.

| Pathetic performance, biggest game of season so farand we just didn't look motivated. Ah Van had a shocker but Langley was worse. All Hull had to do was put a sidestep on and he missed, He just ran at the markers all game. And Potter played him for full 80!!! Addy is not a hooker. Looked good going forward, but he's not a hooker. Very veyr disappointing performace. Just no intensity at all

| We won't make the playoffs, we don't deserve to make the playoffs, and if by some small miracle we [idid[/i happen to make the playoffs, all we would do is go on to get soundly humiliated in the elimination match we took part in.
On a day when we had such an important game, they came out absolutely clueless and got progressively worse. Hull were poor today and yet still managed to double our score. We're an embarrassment, and have been for years now.

| Hull simply wanted the points more than we did today. They put in more energy and got the points that they deserved. We were lethargic and made far too many errors and made poor decisions.
Our pack was well beaten and Hull continually manage to turn us over in the tackle. Not helped by Bentham's reluctance to penalise holding down.
Ah Van had a shocker again, if Potter is going to be consistent he shouldn't be in the side next week. His form has dropped alarmingly, you have to wonder if he expects to be here next year? Some of the defence was shocking, the tries by Westerman and I think Moa were particularly weak.
Disappointing drop in performance levels against what was a fairly ordinary Hull side.

| Season over and rightly so on that performance.
Two poors teams, one managed to tackle though. All that was good about our last two or three games straight out of the window. Hull strolled through our lacklustre defence seemingly at will.
Paddy was shocking today, but half the team were MIA.
Let's use the rest of the season now to try and find a team performance, and drop those who cba.

Sorry Mac the whole point about Herbert is that he chimes in from time to time with that nice pass for Platt or the kick for Roystaon but as a key pivot he is slow and ponderous and simply never takes control or injects tempo. I thought we overused the tactic of piling back into the ruck but even when it did come out Herbert's long pass is so slow it just puts the wide players under more pressure. Hull's centres were able to come out of the line time and time again to nail Jeffries and Kearney. I think this is a reason we make so many mistakes because our passing is under pressure as the opposition has too much time to get up on us.
I don't think it's scapegoating to say he's a key reason why our attacking structure is poor. He's not a SL half and picking him is a mistake.

| Well beaten up front and we looked all at sea down our right in the face of Manu and Yeaman (predictably). We were out enthused at the beginning and that meant Hull had a winning lead that we couldn't reel in. Thought the scoreline flattered us a bit given that Hull bombed some clear chances. It was frustrating to see us go backwards after we've played much better in recent weeks. Why we came out so flat is beyond me.
Ah Van should be dropped for next week. If Sykes had played like that he'd have been lynched.

| We were flat. Such an important game and we were flat. I'm going to point the finger at Potter for this one. He changed the backs to fit Royston in and left too many guys out of position.
Royston is a utility back but is not a winger.
Ah Van is not a very good centre.
Platt was on the bench - played well when he came on. But having a back on the bench left the bench a bit lightweight - especially when Scruton was not totally confident with his wrist.
And there was no urgency or intensity early on when it would have been useful. Instead we got headless chicken rugby at the end - which we hadn't had for a few games.

| Today was our chance to push for the playoffs and yet again we failed to progress. We've had a good few weeks with some decent performances but we're back at square one again.
Not to be too negative but when looking at our next 5 games (Leeds, Catalans, Cas, Huddersfield & Wire) it's hard to see where our next win could come from.

| Seemed like both teams were below par today, after the start we had we should have put more on you guys. Oh well, a win away in super league is always a good win. Good luck for the rest of your season.

| Disappointed is one word I'd use to describe that performance. The opening thirty five minutes is what ultimately cost us as we didn't start playing till Royston scored four minutes out from half time. By which time the damage had been done with Hull FC in a commanding sixteen point lead. We put up a fight in the second half to no avail as mistakes put paid to a comeback, with Whitehead (2) and Ah Van dropping the ball over the line.
I'll also add no leadership, no real commitment, no motivation for what was our biggest game of the season and far too many players having an off day. We certainly missed Heath out there and while I wont jump on young Addy's back after his first game back, he came up with some silly errors when we had Hull in trouble (see the knock on in the first half).
Massive decisions need to be made regarding continuation and player requirement for season 2012, because who would have thought that Ah Van was playing for a new contract on today's showing?
We don't deserve to make the playoffs on the showing today.

| Hmmmmm
How can the fight and grit that we showed against St Helens be so conspicuous by its absence today? That's a question that the whole team have got to look in the mirror and answer honestly
A reasonably decent start, followed by 15 minutes where we simply didn't defend effectively put the game out of reach. We were lucky to still be in the game at half time, as Hull bombed a couple of decent opportunities to put the game well out of reach and then we get our two tries. We desperately needed to score first in the 2nd half, but instead let in a pretty soft effort. Then it was down to dumb football and mistakes that meant we were never really going to come back.
Hull were nothing special today, but we were worse. Plenty of effort from Lynch and Kopczak but Scruton didn't really look like he should have been thrown out there. Very little from Elima and even less from Langley meant that we were light in the forward (especially with only three forwards on the bench and Burgess hardly used).
I thought Herbert was OK today actually - but what is it with us constantly playing people out of position. At one point in the second half we had an entire backline of people playing out of position. Royston is patently not a winger, and I think Whitehead needs to be moved back into the pack.
As for Patrick AhVan he was poor last week, and worse this week. On this sort of showing he shouldn't be getting a contract for next year. To be honest he played like someone who has already been told he isn't getting one!
Looks like the Top 8 is over for another season. We've got to win two more games than Hull, and its hard to see how we'll do that frankly

| Not a gloating Hull fan here; I think we are very ordinary, you guys must be gutted because your team are pretty much pathetic, from contenders to nobodies within 4 seasons? It just seems you let good players go and bring in cut price junk to replace them. Where next for your lot?
