I'm way too pessimistic for my own good. Usually though, he does include the word 'positive' if its something good. God, I hope I'm wrong.

I'm a natural pessimist too but if the announcement is tomorrow, the day before the cup tie, I can't imagine it being earth shatteringly bad.

Flip side of that is would we choose to announce something negative the day before a big game?. surely we'd have got it out of way in aftermath of wire game or hang on til after fax game.

It suggests something that would be unexpected, perhaps a little on the risky side. If its a signing (and it might not be at all) then I'm guessing it is someone people wouldn't guess - but falling into the category of an extra squad member, rather than a marquee signing...
