| Hardly suprising Lynch and Scruton aren't in the ETS. Lynch has never been in the bracket of elite props in the country and even in his prime wasnt considered good enough for major international fixtures. Scruton, well he's a fair way short of elite tbh.
Congrats to Elliot and Donno although Elliot should have made the ETS if Brett Ferres has, says it all about Macca really.

| To be perfectly honest, I'd rather none of our players were picked for the international team. Yes, it's a honour for the players, however, the end of season internationals end the same way ie England getting tonked.
McNamara's appointment as England coach always struck me as being the result of two things a)cheapness and b) no one else wanted the job.
actually, let me clarify point b as "no one who actually had the required coaching levels wanted the job"

| How come Brough is in the squad? Surely he's illegible after playing for Scotland only lasy year? If a player can play in the qualifying rounds for one nation and the WC for another it just puts yet another mocker on international RL.
Not that international sport isn't already a joke with England Cricket being made up of South Africans and England Union having a certain ex Kiwi international playing for them.

You have not seen much of Crabtree this year then. he killed the wire forwards and yesterday was our MOM.
A 50m catch and return bowling players over left right and centre and in the first half a run took 4 players out and left Radford wondering what day of the week it was

Well I've watched two out of three of your games, he looks the same as always. He is the most over rated forward in Superleague.

yet in the 2009 four nations he had a very god series. ( less good in OZ last time as apparently he was instructed by McBanana to keep it tight and NOT TO OFFLOAD).
I would say that most Huddersfield fans ( and Hull fans after yesterday ) would disagree with you. I could link this thread to our board and invite further views

Do what you want mate, I am sure linking it to your board would get a very unbiased opinion on him.
He goes missing too often, he may have had a cracking game yesterday (based on your report) but he's just not good enough for England.

| Crabtree 15 full caps Scruton 6 full caps. Tony Smith and others obviously disagree with you ( i will not put Mc B in there)
FWIW i like Lynch and think he should have had more caps.
Crabtree is different to a lot of other props he is not an 80 m man like Graham, an enforcer like Morley but is one of the best offloaders in RL. as an interchange prop he is as good as any and better than most English props.

| I'm not really sure why Scruton has been added to the discussion when I've never mentioned his name? For what it's worth Scruton is a couple of years younger than Earl and he didn't do his international career any favours when he came to play at Bradford in what was a very average squad. If we had done well over the last few years then I feel Scruton would of got a call up.
Earl has got an offload (only 31 compared to 75 from Lynch in 2010 though I may add) but that's about it for me. To me he is a nothing player, he doesn't seem to have the stamina for the hard graft as he's such a big unit and he can often seem to be missing the aggression needed when taking the ball up and making a real impact.

| Looking forward to the game on Friday, should be a really good battle and hopefully an entertaining game for a neutral.
I will be sure to keep an eye out for Mr Crabtree, can hardly miss him

| Crabtree offers something different to every other prop in the squad. I'm not saying the Aussies will fear him, but there's not many others we have who could come on and knock a few bodies about etc.
I still think Lynch should be in the squad. Ferres better than Whitehead or Langley??

Ferres continues to impress me but his deccision making near the line is terrible. Not an international though.

Agreed. One of the 4 or 5 best of a pretty mediocre bunch of English props.
As for Whitehead he is not ready yet and Langley can't stay fit long enough. Whilst it may seem ironic that our players have been overlooked by the very coach under whose tutelage most of them have regressed it remains a fact that none of them demand selection on the last 2 years form.

Aye, bringing Huddersfield fans in will offer a nice unbiased opinion too won't it? Especially the ones from the Hudders RLFans board, which is one of the most biased boards on this site.
I tend to agree that Crabtree deserves his spot though. A few years ago, he seemed a bit "lightweight" and in the Chris Feather mould of a huge bloke who just didn't use his size. Last couple of years though he's really stepped it up (ever since that International series where he had a belter) and should definitely be in there.
If we're querying how certain players got in ahead of the likes of Lynch, Scrutes & Hargreaves, I'm surprised people are picking out Crabtree when there's a far better target in Liam Watts! I also think LMS is massively overrated, and if he came from Keighley instead of London, he wouldn't even be in Super League.
Look on the bright side. At least no Darrell Griffin any more!
