interesting comment near end of article where it mentions whiteheads competition for 2nd row spots and includes walker. A lot of hull kr fans said, when we signed him, that he was better suited to 2nd row than now. We've all assumed he will play , and I'm pretty sure potter said something along same lines in the webchat, but maybe we're thinking of switching him to 2nd row now.

| The best game I remember Walker playing was 2nd row for Great Britain just before he left for Union. Had an outstanding game and I personally think its probably his best position. Suppose it depends on his fitness and speed and if we have any better options in front of him.
I seem to remember Potter saying in the web chat that he was brought to the club as a centre but I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the pack. Just hope they pick a position for him and stick to it.

| Walker might get tried at both SR and centre, the Sykes article refers to Walker as being a centre. Wasn't there another article referring to adaptability to playing different positions recently?
As Walker has played both centre and SR recently, MP might want to see how he performs in the friendlies before limiting to just one position?

Or even see how he goes and don't limit him to one position?
In any case starting at centre doesn't preclude being moved to SR when the interchanges (or injuries) come along. I think Walker is one of a few options who can provide real quality in different positions, Potter seems to have deliberately gone down this route so we'll see how it goes, and hopefully it can provide more options within games, which should keep us all happy if it comes off.

| going off his tweets it sounds like he's been working with Halley in training recently. Suggests a wing partnership test.

Is Halley even in full training? Thought he was looking at an April return?

| I think Mick Potter will know where he wants Walker to play and how he wants him to play.

But that doesn't mean he won't be used as a flexible option in the 2nd rower. I agree with earlier poster in that he has looked good in the past as a mobile 2nd rower

| I always thought Walker was a better backrower. However our centres need some competition for places. Hopefully Potter will solve the longstanding problem of our inability to defend on the fringes and maybe Walker will help that.
Potter can only work with what he's got but I'll be expecting big improvements in defensive decision making this coming season. Seeing us standing like statues and being mesmerised by dummy runners has been happening all too often for the past few years, McNamara was at a loss to sort it out so it's up to Potter.

| It's a nice headache to have isn't it!
I think much will depend on injury as the season goes on. It is nice to finally have some genuine competition for places though.

| I will be looking out for Chev this season and fingers crossed for him he is injury free.
2nd Row is where you will get the best from him these days.
Great offload still.
