| Mick Potter has recruited the players he wants but where will he play them and what style of play will he use.
Some welcomed help in the front row with Hargreaves and the fire of Elima behind but what will be his forward's game plan?
Sibbett adds bulk but how best will Potter use him? And what about Worrincey, can he be effective and how and where.?
What roll willl Hall have in his plans? and can he get Langley up to his full potential.
Will Le'Strange and Godwin continue to rotate as hookers and if so under what cicumstances, and what role will Diskin take?
Raynor, Ainscough, on the wings need supply of ball from inside. Are Walker and Sykes up to the job? Can Crooks come of age?
Where should Potter play Ah Van.
Marc Herbert at 7? or Diskin? with Southernwood as understudy?
And where to play Kearney, Full back or stand off. Awesome at both.
Throw in Addy, Whitehead, Donalaldson, Royston, Finnigan into the mix
Will be interesting to see the style of play Potter decides to use next year

In an injury crisis and in the opening rounds of the CC against lower league sides.
Quote And what about Worrincey, can he be effective and how and where.?'"
He can't be effective anywhere - he's p!sh. I concede he may be a top notch programme seller - lets give him a try.
Quote What roll willl Hall have in his plans?'"
Hopefully a more effective one than McNamara had him playing.
Quote Will Le'Strange and Godwin continue to rotate as hookers and if so under what cicumstances, and what role will Diskin take?'"
No. Diskin will start, Le'Strange will be an impact hooker from the bench. Godwin will hopefully be lining up for York City Knights or someone similar.

As for the rest. Ah Van and Walker at centre for me, can Crookes actually stay fit? Kearney at FB but if we cannot get the right man in then he will go in the halves with either Platt, Sykes or Royston at FB IMO.

| I'm surprised he's still here but lets give the lad a chance this season before bagging him already. With an off season with a new coach lets hope some of his faults can be rectified.

| All Mick Potter has to do, is apply the KISS principle to Worrincy, Maccas idea of all players being able to operate in several different positions caused him problems, he wasn't the only but seemed the worst affected by it through the season. LSH can take a lot of the blame for not rectifying it. Hopefully Potter will make it clear he (LSH) needs to talk to players when things are going wrong with them. It was partly due to him being on his own so to speak, but with another Assistant Coach in place there should better communication to sort out players and on the field issues

Where on earth has that random assessment come from and why do you assume there are on field comm' problems?

| This criticism of Worrincy is uncalled for. I'm backing him to have a good season. He's a good natural athlete and has potential if coached right, I think Potter might be able to get the best out of him.

| It is going to be an interesting season.
Especially when you look at the squad so far as it looks to me that we should have the players to actually have two XIII's. I'd imagine that Potter has a fair idea of who goes in the A team and who'll be in the B team. But as I don't think he's actually physically joined the club yet there's still plenty of time for all players to step up and claim a spot.
Looking forward to 2011

With plenty of players to spare, only in the halves do we struggle and I've had to put Kearney and Godwin there out of position in these example teams (and fingers crossed we've got more of them to come).

Actually he's not. He's overweight and lacks mobility. Elliot Whitehead, Wayne Godwin, Brett Kearney and Michael PLatt, these are your natural athletes.

I wouldn't say he's overweight but he certainly lacks mobility. Stiff as a board springs to mind.

| So here we are again, a player being over critisised due to his so called lack of ability! Then wothout a second thought a poster, trying to justify his witch hunt uses a player who was also demonised (probably by the same people) to bolster thier arguement for a termination of his contract, mad! If the majority on here had thier way Micheal Platt would have been publicly hung drawn and quatered in the middle of the pitch!
Short memories some folk!

| The purpose of starting this thread was to invite intelligent comment as to how Mick Potter will game plan for 2011 given that almost all of the team has been signed/retained by him.
What might we deduce from his signings as to the style of rugby he will play.
Its a bit disconcerting to see the thread sidetracked into denigrating individual players

Alternatively, your criticism of the criticism of Worrincy is uncalled for.'" As far as I can see, he runs good lines in attack and has great pace and athleticism which could be very effective outside a good half back. On the other hand, he has missed a couple of poor one-on-one tackles which have led to tries, and any errors he makes are more likely to be exposed because he stands out on the pitch. If you compare his stats to Ben Westwood, you will see that Westwood played one game more than Worrincy and missed 7 more tackles, made 11 more errors and gave away one more penalty. Westwood did make more tackles and almost twice as many metres, but this can be attributed to having more playing time, and if a player is so demonised for having a poorer work rate than Ben Westwood then to be honest your whole squad should be in trouble. I don't know if the accusation of Worrincy being overweight is true or just part of his character assasination, but it never used to be the case that he was overweight, certainly not at Harlequins or in his first season at the Bulls, and if he was out of shape then you can hardly blame the player himself, he was training full time and will have been following the fitness regimes given to him by McNamara's staff.

More holes in that view than Nigellas gusset.

| The point Headhunter makes about Worrincey 'outside a good halfback' is fair. When playing with Ben Jeffries (barely above average but still our best 6 by a distance in years) he ran good lines, broke tackles and scored important tries (at home against Leeds and away against Sts in 2009).
Last year due to the woeful squad composition he was spelled at prop in a team that played almost all year without a recognised stand off and most of it without a 7 either. This does not mitigate against some of the worst 'missed tackles' seen at Odsal in a long time. Having said that ever since SM took over our defence was in decline and in no way can Worrincey be blamed for all those games where we conceded 3 or 4 tries in the opening 1/4 only to start to play better out of feared humiliation.
In short I feel we have been a very poorly coached and assembled squad and if MP thinks he can make use of Worrincey then I'm right behind him.
