| It would be nice for Smith to win it this year, especially given that the Roosters were wooden spoonists last year.
That said it would also be nice for Gareth Ellis to win a GF down under with the Tigers. Boy could Leeds do with him playing in the next game (or two).

Okay here's some history for you guy's
- if the Roosters win next Sunday they will be the first team to go from wooden spooners to premier's in a year since 1934 (Western Suburbs Magpies were the last to do it)
- if the Dragons win technically it'll be their first premiership (St George Illawarra Dragons formed in the 90's after the Super League war over here)
The media over here (Australia) will no doubt be playing up the last time St George played Easts in which Easts won 38 - Nil

Penrith came bottom in 2001, Royce Simmons was sacked and replaced by John Lang. Two years later they won the NRL. |
