| Yet again another match against Hull Kr and they force the bar shut. When I went to the toilet just before half time and the muppets tried to talk me into a fight and the stewards and police were shutting down the bar I was in my mind penning my post on their board but now I just think sod 'em. I'd only end up banned or they'll hide behind the "it's only a minority of fans" line. It's not a minority I'm afraid they are pigs.
The simple fact is the public bar has only been shut twice since I've been attending regularly since 1992 and that's been in two years and that's because of Hull KR fans. If they want to go round starting fights at sports venues they should have more about them and join a football hooligan firm but KR fans aren't brave enought to even do that because they are cowards.
Make them pay for the policing if they want to be registered in the Super league or even Championship then that club might learn to control the animals that support it.

| I didn't get any trouble. On way out a few were moaning, but their side had just been hammered.
I still don't get why they are the only club that have fans located in pop stand. I'm not saying they shouldn't, it's just a bit odd, considering half of them also stand in the "away" stand too. Last year i was stood in that section of the pop and it did cause a bit more arguments than the usual arguing amongst each other over Platt, worrincy etc.
p.s. I know Giants fans have stood there as well, but not in the same numbers at all.

| I aren't even going to start grouping all the HKR fans into one generalisation, but it is true about the bar. I've only ever remembered the bar being shut twice and that was today and last year. The small gathering of HKR fans that gives the rest of the bad name they're getting are a disgrace to this great game.
On the whole, HKR fans are as pleasant as the next set of fans.

| Personally we stand there because the view from the end is appalling.
I, nor my family and friends are 'pigs' we are rugby league supporters who follow and support our team home and away and these comments are totally unnecessary and offensive, some of the fans around us today in the popular stand were extremely rude to us for simply standing there, surely as the above poster says it's down to personal choice, we pay our money and you can freely move around the ground. We were told we should be standing behind the sticks, it was supposed to be a home game and that they don't have that choice when they come to our 'hole', well I'm sorry, but pot, kettle and all that even one of your own fans said today he'd be glad when they filled the place in. I happily chatted to a family near us, offered to move if their little lad couldn't see, etc. I am aware we have a small section of idiots that follow us, most clubs do, but there is absoutely no need for this generalisation.

But isn't that the case at pretty much every game? View from side is better than end. Not having a go, just wondering really.

| At most of the new stadiums you have no choice but to sit behind the sticks so it's nice to have the choice but the difference is that these grounds have stands that are close up to the in-goal area. I take photos so being behind the sticks so far away from the pitch just doesn't work for me.
I really miss the NL grounds where you could walk around and stand pretty much anywhere you wanted.

| I don't see a problem with people standing where they want, providing they behave themselves and the home fans they are near also behave. The only thing is, it's going to cause arguments even among the nicer folk sometimes. All it takes is a close game and someone shouts something at the ref, others don't agree, and it can end up with people arguing. It entirely depends on the people though. I stood next to a Leeds fan at Headingley this year and despite us both shouting for our teams, we got on fine and even talked about the game as it was going on. There were a number of other Leeds fans around us too and we talked with a couple of them. No problems at all.
The real problem arises when you get the idiots like the ones mentioned in the first post. The trouble causers are bad enough anywhere, but if you put them in the middle of the opposition fans, it's a recipe for disaster.

| Fair enough, Would i be wrong to argue that the pop end at Odsal is a bit more welcoming than say the south stand at headingley.
I think Castleford is the only place that a fair few away fans stand at the side part.

I don't recall saying there was a problem with it...
On a personal note Headingley is one of the only grounds where i've seen a fight with Leeds fans stood in the away end. It was silly really. Anyway Never mind, have a train to catch.

Never said you did. Purely offering my opinion on KR fans standing at the side with us. Wasn't aimed at anyone. If it was, I'd have quoted whoever it was.

I mainly wondered if it was a historical thing given they have only been in SL like 3 years.

I think that may be a part of it. In the lower leagues, there's more room, all fans tend to just stand together without being designated "ends". Certainly when I've been to lower league matches, it's been a lot like that.
At Headingley, more than any other ground, I've noticed a lot of home fans tend to stay in the "away end" (the reverse of the KR fans being in with the home fans). There always seems to be quite a number of Leeds fans on the West terrace. Or is that just because there isn't enough room in the south stand?

| It's a shame that a minority of fans tarnish the name of the whole club. We at the Bulls have a group of idiots but not on the same scale as Hull KR. Having to shut the bar 2 years running because of the Hull KR fans is very poor.
What steps have Hull KR taken to eradicate their numpty fans?

The difference between those two I've found, is that at Leeds, they are generally friendly people who you can chat with about the match without expecting abuse (I say generally, not every one of them). At Saints, it tends to mainly be the chav element that stand in the away end, trying to get a rise out of people. Perhaps that's just because St. Helens has a larger percentage of chavs than almost anywhere in the world though!

What exactly happened in the bar, wasn't aware of anything at the game and never heard anything on the coach on the way home so can't really comment.

The group I was with were turned away at half time and told the bar had been shut due to Hull fans fighting.

| I have absolutely no problem what so ever with away fans standing wherever they want but this is the second time the bar has had to be closed because of Hull Kr fans.
It's no generalisation mate. Most of the Hull KR fans are great but there is a large contingent that again caused trouble. It's not a minority either you can hide behind this argument all you like but it's a problem for Hull KR and it's not just at Bradford either. Like I said make Hull KR pay for the extra Police that has to be put on and they will sort their fans out.
Most of the people on here will recognise me as the sort of person that isn't judgemental nor do I normally react like this. I've never called a set of fans on here before. It's no joke and people serving behind the bar at a Rugby League ground deserve more respect than I am willing to afford Hull KR fans. What did they do wrong?

| "It's not a minority I'm afraid they are pigs." - seems pretty judgemental to me.
I'm a Hull KR fan, but I'm not a pig and I think that you're out of order with that comment.
I'm getting really annoyed with these "fans" that make trouble and generate this sort of reaction from other groups of fans. I think that we take more fans to away games than many other clubs, and this may make some problems more likely. It's not acceptable though and I agree it's time to sort it out. Presumably, the stewards and police will have the names of the people causing the problem today so can't Rovers do something about it, cancelling season tickets for example?
We all paid for our tickets, so I guess that this contributed towards the cost of extra stewards.

| So what actually happened? How many people were 'fighting'? I'm presuming these people would have been dealt with by the police if it had been such a bad incident and that their details will be passed on to our club by your club. The same thing happened last season, I was at that game too yet never saw or heard anything about it until I got home and read it on here. I'm not doubting what you are saying but I for one want these people removing from our ranks so the more information that is passed on the better.

| I can see both sides of the argument really. It's annoying to turn up and find your usual space is taken.
However, it seemed I was just one of 5 bulls fans in our area at one stage which amused the KR fans. We had good some good banter with 2 guys infront and 2 women stood on the row behind with no hint of any trouble, it was a pretty good laugh.

Did anyone make them go into the bar?
Funny how no other clubs fans have a problem with this.

| Me and the guys I go with commented on the police presence, something I don't remember seeing for many other games, I'd guess the trouble was due to the large number of fans sat in the touchdown out of the rain drinking...why pay for a ticket, travel if your just going to sit in the bar. I'd imagine they'd want to see the game by looking out of the window and we all know you can't once the games started...perhaps they didn't like being told no
Anyone know what happened to the Mexican wrestler? Quite funny when both sets of fans boo'd the stewards when they surrounded him.
