Oh, we keep up with the news alright, it's you lot close to the edge of the known world, on the left side of the Pennines that I worry about.

The club has a history of promoting from within (Menzies?), but surely this is the time to bring in an experienced NRL taskmaster as seen in the recent success of Brown at Hudds and maybe also Maguire at Wigan?

I'd be worried if you get any of the 'usual suspects' that are touted by fans following these kinds of rumours:

Jon Sharp
Ellery Hanley
Ian Millward
Brian Noble
John Kear
Iestyn Harris
etc

But i'd take Noble or Kear, but Aussies are the way to go with coaches, Taylor or Foulkes would be good aswell.

TBF he has been number 2 at our club during his time in charge so making it official seems sensible.

Hmmm. I can't think of many players that have gone from player straight to first team coach and suceeded at a senior level. In fact I can't think of any.

Doesn't matter it will be Lee St Hillaire. Smith, Elliot, Noble, Macnamara, St Hillaire, ?

I can think of a few who've had a stab at it but not done very well and that's some time ago. Nowadays it's rarer than it used to be because generally you need to develop as a coach for a few years before getting a head coach job.
