| I can claim 6 on vinyl or CD or both.
"Ziggy Stardust" (with "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"icon_wink.gif was the first vinyl LP I ever bought, although I'd had it and some others on cassette before, and it was the first time I ever heard any music in stereo - and through headphones and a decent hi-fi too. Will never forget hearing the opening bars of "Five Years" through that for the first time - it was the mother of all revelations.
From memory, "Tubular Bells" was about #11 I bought, and "Led Zep IV" about #20.

| Thinking back, I did have the Led Zep IV and Tubular Bells on vinyl but they were "donated" to the communal record collection in my student digs, and, when everything was divvied back out I ended up with the Woodstock album and Art Garfunkel amongst others
Just "going off astringent" (as my missus would say) when I replaced the Led Zep IV LP with cd all looked ok as in the sleeve and cd stamping indicated it was Led Zep when I played it, it turned out to be a Neil Young album

I'm a bit confused over the choices of sleeve art. I can think of more interesting and iconic covers from British bands, including ones from those selected.
For instance surely The Dark Side of the Moon is a better album cover than the Division Bell?
The lack of Beatles covers is baffling unless they've been done already. Or do they still have that rule whereby you've got to be brown bread to appear on a stamp unless you're the reigning monarch?

Agreed, one look at the prism splitting light is virtually a logo for Pink Floyd.

With the Beatles it may be a cost issue to obtain rights to have it as a stamp, much like the fact you can't download Beatles legally yet.

| Are they the covers of classic albums or classic album covers?
They are very different things.
