It would be nice if one of the clubs could put in on their website to say it's definitely on or off.

Just been announced on the Cas Site. Delayed KO until 2.00pm with a further pitch inspection at 12.00

On the basis it's taken nearly an hour to get news of this inspection I hope they get the news out quicker at 12pm!

it might just be me being a bit pesermistic but i wouldnt hold my breath for the game being played to be honest, if the pitch wasnt going to be payable for a noon kick off i cant see how it will be right for a 2pm kick off as the temperature is still very low in cas, so if i were you i would leave it until after the noon pitch inspection before io set off if i were you.

I won't be setting off until I hear news on 12 o'clock inspection now. If they don't mention anything until an hour after the inspection again, I think I'll give it a miss.

Just glad I did see this before I set off.

Do Leeds still have undersoil or was that ripped out years ago? Seem to recall it being taken out, excellent job by Leeds if they've managed to keep the game on with just covers.

Bulls website says Cas think the game will go ahead with a [u12:00 kick off.[/u. No mention of inspections.

That was posted on Christmas Eve.

I don't think it does have undersoil, as I'm sure I remember reading that's one of the reasons behind playing the WCC at Elland Road, to guarantee it goes ahead, regardless of weather.

Leeds have had things out on Thursday and Today asking for volunteers to come down and help clear the snow from the pitch. Perhaps Cas and others should have done that.

My plan this morning was to just go as if everything was fine, thinking if anything gets changed, the Bulls will post it on their site and my Twitter would alert me to that via my phone. Good job I didn't stick with that plan, otherwise I'd be on my way to Cas right now.

That`s correct. The "electric blanket", as it was known, caused too many problems with the drainage so was dug up and not re-instated after improvements a good few years back. Funnily enough the Headingley pitch always seemed very good back then but nowadays seems to resemble a beach on some occasions.

We try to improve the way things work but sometimes things just don`t work out. As our friends from Perpignan would probably say plus ça change plus c`est la même chose....
