I don't know the gentleman, but I came across this article today and just thought I'd share it. (Apologies if its elsewhere but I've not seen it) Mr Ebbage is retiring from being timekeeper at the Bulls after being involved at Odsal in various roles since 1967, a fine effort sir, and I hope the team give you plenty to cheer in your retirement next year. I know he received a special award at the player of the year do this year in regonition of his service but has had this interview in the Yorkshire post lately and I thought it worth sharing;
"Timekeeper and honorary vice-president Charlie Ebbage, 79, has stopped the clock on his long career with home-town Bradford Bulls, retiring and handing over the hooter after serving a host of roles.
[iWhat are the different jobs you have fulfilled at Odsal over the years[/i?
I started off in 1967 doing the half-time draw, then went on to become supporters' club secretary, chairman and treasurer but I also worked for 30 years as assistant kit man with the A team, Colts and Academy before retiring from that in 1997. I sat next to Trevor (Foster) doing the timekeeping for a lot of years and after he died in 2005 I took that over, too..."
