He has not hit the heights we expected at the start of the season, however given the number of players around him who've been inconsistent or downright poor this season I think picking Sam out as an exception would be unfair. Regardless of his talent consistency normally comes with experience.

Enquiries must have been made either by the NRL clubs or by his agent on Sam's behalf and maybe the number of offers convinced Sam the time was right when he had the pick of clubs to go to. Once he's decided it's just a case of telling the Bull's he'll be using his get out clause next year at which point the club have no sensible option but to sell.
