| How many people on here think that if Tony Smith had better assistants England would have done better in the world cup?

Incidentally, you'll notice that 6 of the 20 players currently in the train-on squad, picked from 10 clubs, are from Warrington. Where the England coach does his day job.

Much better to have picked them all 50/50 from the Leeds and Saints squads, who served us so well and admirably in the last internationals?
There's not actually much of a case for same old, same old, is there?

He hasn't picked any Leeds or Saints players yet. They are still in the competition so none of their players are named. So including them is kind of irrelevant.
I was simply pointing out that there are 6 Warrington players in a 20-man train-on squad. This is comparable to no more than 2 from any of the other 9 clubs he has to choose from (if we discount that Gareth Ellis is also in there, from an Oz club).
Make of that info what you will.

Next you'll be suggesting that just because he's French, Arsene Wenger would stuff his squad with frogs, oh hang on . . .

| I think any coach would have players he feels he can rely on and he is always likely to keep going back to those players. The strange thing is that Warrington haven`t been a team that even the most biased Wire fan could describe as `reliable` so it does seem a little strange. I think Noble was a little similar when he was in charge, though it must be said that the Bradford team at the time was a bit more successful.

As I remember this sort of thing has happened forever. Whichever coach GB/England have will have their favourites.

It's great with hindsight. Who were his mates who weren't form players? The top teams generally seem to have more form players, funny that.
