We all know that Macca won't get the sack, but it interested me to read that two former coaches of ours ( Elliot & Smith ) are OOC at the end of this season.

Smith isn't, he's signed for 4 years with the Roosters. Wouldn't want Elliot back, he's nothing. He was the one that lived off of Smith's success.

Consequences? Nothing will happen, we'll get the 'we're dissapointed, but things just didn't go for us, but we've put together a good squad with a mixture of experience and youth for next season, and we're ready to challenge again' line and that will be all that will happen.

We'll make the playoffs and make the grand final. I strongly believe in that!

Just can't see it. If Catalans beat Wakey at home and Cas beat Harlequins (A) or Celtic (H) then you're gone and that's without taking account of Warrington and Harlequins who are both a point ahead of you.

Read back on various threads and you will see no-one is under any illusions. Most in fact have already written our chances off. The only reason folk are still even admitting the faint possibility is that all the other results over the last two rounds (bar one, I think) went in our favour. Whether that can continue for another two weeks requires some continuing extreme good fortune. Sorry.

Not that extreme really. Wakey winning in France by far the biggest shock we need (we've given up on Celtic at Cas) and who would be all that surprised if it occured?

Given the current position and the players that you know are leaving (and the players that McNamara knows are leaving) would you prefer to play the strongest squad available or use players that will be at the club next season, subject to the current injury position of course, which I am not at present aware of after 2 weeks away.

We have a decent record against Les Cats and we also won thier last season. Kear does want to keep up momentum for the playoffs so hopefully we can win. Tough game but winnable.

I think Macca is doing a good job right now but really this is too little too late and if Hood had the cohones he'd make the change.

As I recall didn't he say a successful season was having a good run in the play-offs? I.e. not just making up the numbers?

If he doesn't want to sack his mate then he could always save face by moving him upstairs. Leeds did this and they won a GF the same year.

Even if Macca makes the play-offs he has to go because it will have been relying on the misfortune of other clubs rather than us making our own destiny. A good run in the play-offs would redeem things for me i.e beating our first opposition and valiantly losing the next game but I doubt this would happen.

Would anyone be happy if Noble came back under a sort of "Director of Coaching" title?
