I said on another thread that I don't like hair pulling and find it a bit cowardly.

However it's not a 4 match ban offence, that's just bloody ridiculous. A fine would be a fair punishment, perhaps a match ban, but certainly no more than that. If the player then did it again, fair enough, give a larger ban.



Slamming someone's head into the floor (grapple tackle) is just a penalty. Pulling someone's hair is a potential 4 match ban. That says it all really.

I don't recall anyone getting done for pulling Vainikolo's hair - that seemed to happen on a regular basis.

I would agree with that, it certainly isn't something that players should get away with. A one match ban would be fair imo.

He was sin binned for it. Hence he was punished on the field.

Semi was punished on the field, i wouldn't be surprised if his shorts were brown after that incident

Having now seen the replay of the Scott Moore incident on the old Sky+, I'm not convinced it was actually that bad. It was a late challenge and deserved a yellow, but he doesn't catch him with an elbow (it's his upper arm that connects) and I'm not convinced it was deliberate.

I can accept a yellow card having seen that.

I agree with both...the hair pulling was daft and the Scott Moore incident looked a lot worse at normal speed. I thought he led with his elbow but as he didnt there wasn't a lot wrong other than it being late. The biggest idiot award goes to Sykes for the stupid sin-binning.

moore's challenge,although late was not malicious or cowardly,he simply committed himself to the charge down and coulnd't really stop himself

tadulala on the other hand COULD have stopped himself pulling a fellow professionals hair, and yes eorl has long hair but that doesn't give someone the right to try and drag him around by it.

i think a 4 match ban would be harsh if thats what he gets but ATEOTD it was a cowards thing to do and it should be stamped out

I generally agree with that. I don't think Moore was completely innocent as I wouldn't exactly say committed, but it was nowhere near as bad as first viewed. He could have not done it though, so a yellow card was the right decision.

And I agree about the hair pulling. However anything more than a 1 match ban is going way overboard. Pulling hair, while obviously something you shouldn't be doing, isn't really that dangerous. It's stupid to make it a "worse" offence (in the eyes of the RFL) than some of the stuff that get small bans. It does however need something doing to stop it happening in future, so getting off without even a fine would also be wrong.

Erm but it was intentional. Look let's be honest he wasn't aiming to charge down the kick it was a deliberate attempt to knock the stuffing out of our playmaker. Players should be allowed to pressure the kicker by closing him down and attempting a tackle or raising their arms in a genuine attempt at a charge down. I am certain that Moore's only intention was to get his shoulder into Deacon. I reckon it is something that should be penalised and in this instance the correct decision was made at the time.

Pulling someone's hair when they were running would be extremely dangerous and would merit a 4 match ban. This was at the lower end of the scale but coud result in a ban to set an example
