| My candidates are
Dave Halley - For the quality, enthusiasm and class he has shown at times this season.
Steve Menzies - For a lot of the season he has been a class above and has been excellent for us in most matches.
Andy Lynch - For the sheer amount of effort he has put in every time he's on the pitch.
I'm undecided between these three, but I imiagine Beaver will be front runner.
Oh and I might vote for Deacon, good to give him something to retire with.

| It's Halley for mine.
Menzies is a close second, but I think for pure consistency and generally standing out above all others, Halley deserves it. And if I were picking a third, I'd agree with your assessments and have Lynch.
Lynch doesn't really deserve to be 3rd, but I believe Halley & Menzies have done a little more. I think sometimes we all take Lynch a bit for granted as he's excellent in almost every game without you necessarily noticing it.

| For me, It's Halley since he returned from Wakefield he has been classs puts a lot of effort in and has laid a great platform for the fowards and returns the ball brilliantly and his defence has improved.
But a very close second Menzies who has played awesome for the opening half of the season and was a class above everyone else and has been our best foward this year.
For me, the third is between Nero and Lynch, Lynch has been constitent this year and he creates things and Nero has had is best season in ages.

| I think BJ deserves to get a little mention aswell as he has put more effort in than most of our backs (bar Halley and Nero) as shown through his assists.

| halley for me, purely because of genuine improvement he's shown in his game this year. menzies and lynch just behind him but they are performing to already high standards whereas halley is improving game by game for me.

My thought's exactly. Beaver has been immense, particularly in the 1st part of the year and would also be a worthy winner. But like you say Halley probably just about deserves the accolade the most all things considered.

| I'll almost always go for a forward in these stakes, because its usually (although not always) one of them that gets through the (often-overlooked) hard graft that builds the platform (or arrests the rot!).
Hard one this year though, and the short list has to be Lynch, Menzies, Halley and maybe Nero IMO.
(Had Worrincy followed through on that initial promise, maybe he'd have made it there. And if we were looking at last few weeks only then Scruton would surely be in the running IMO. Morro would ALWAYS be in the running, just that he was injured so much - If anyone deserves a hell of a send-off, he does.)
I'd probably go for a hugely-influential Menzies on balance, but its close. Halley maybe shades it over Lynch, but only because he has been available for more games. In a full season I think Lynch would be there again.
Donkey of the year? A few queuing up for that one...

Lynch and Halley have been available for round about the same amount of games this season haven't they? Halley was on loan whilst Andy was injured???

Thinking about it, yes on reflection I think you are correct - that sounds about right. Getting mixed up between all the bloody injuries this season.
Still a hard one to call IMO - if Halley DOES shade it over Lynch, its because of the visible lift his obvious enthusiasm and courage gave to the fans and the team. Still think Beaver shades them all though...although you'd surely give to Beaver for influence and sheer class, Lynch for honest hard graft and leading by example, and Halley for enthusiasm and inspiration? Nero follows on with an all-round hard-working effort.

| I'd give it to Halley, he's the most improved player and always puts 100% in.
Can't see where Nero comes into it though, he's not much kop in my opinion. Yes he's had a small improvement on last season, but that doesn't take much, player of the year, definatley not player of the year.

| Halley should be given it purely for the lift he gave us for the first Leeds game, and also his 110% effort and enthusiasm.
