Diito. Not many coaches could make such an obvious impact on a group of players as Fox.

| Fox was peerless at getting great performances from players perceived to be average. He got success everywhere except Leeds and as a result you could say he was the "perfect coach". ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

| A great coach who saved us from relegation in his first season in his second spell in charge, then took us to joint top of the league in a couple of seasons, only losing the Championship to full time Wigan on points difference. Complete legend, outspoken fiery character. A pity his biography I bought last year was crap

In what way do you feel it is "crap"? Like most sports autobiographies it was written in a style, which probably reflects the author, but "crap" is a tad unfair, imo. It certainly made interesting reading.

| Schofield's is the worst Biog I've read.
Fox's was ok but could've been better. It was good to see the poetry he read to the GB team in 78 but I'd have like some more about what made him a great man manager, and why certain players often played above themselves for him.

Peter Fox was an outspoken coach, a true character of the game. The part of the book that deals with his coaching record was very sterile noting which significant games we won or lost, trophies won, players bought and sold. I was expecting some more in depth discussion of key issues. The sort of things that go on at clubs and you wait years and years to find out. Then a book like this comes out and I think the authors could hav tried to get more details from Fox about matters such as the walk off at Hull KR, playing five games in seven days in 78, winning the 81 Championship on the last day, coaching Yorkshire and GB leaving Bradford first time around, Henderson Gill leaving and so on.I don't blame Fox because he didn't write the book, it's not an autobiography. Maybe I was a bit unfair but it was because I was disappointed.
