Sorry to dissapoint but i dont mean a leeds player but Karl Harrison is apparentley been chatting about a return to the bulls in some coaching capacity, my mate plays at Batley who have been trying to resign rhino for next season but he has put his talks on hold whilst he speaks to a former club hes been involved with, these are Huddersfield halifax salford bradford and hull.

Halifax Deffinate No
Hull a possibilty but looks doubtful with all the signings agars making
Bradford ?
Maybe he is returning to replace the mac !!!

I heard from someone who works for Karl that him and Eddie McGuiness had been offered a coaching job at Bradford ages ago, just before Eddie tragically died.

yeah they were both at bradford together before they both joined salford,would you have rhino ?

I'm not sure Harrison's record at Keighley, Salford or Batley suggests that he's any better than McNamara.

I think we've already got one too many coaches who haven't been able to prove they can manage an SL club.

Not sure he would be the answer, same as I'm not convinced Lowes would be, but if he's coming in a coaching role he'd offer experience of playing and coaching at a higher level than our existing staff.

Can't have been ages ago then, Ed only died in March. I doubt that rumour very much.

I would suggest that Karl is too inexperienced for a SL head coach job, but would make an outstanding no.2 and defence coach. He wouldn't [ineed[/i to shout at anybody, he naturally commands respect. I'd have him on board though not as No. 1

Sadly if McNamara goes the only sensible option for me would be to get an Australian, who can bring across with him some little known, cheapish young stars of the future.

We would be as well asking Karl to come back and be Steve Macs number 2 cos he's not going anywhere and the defence is the main issue. Its not gonna happen but...

can't see anyone offering him a no1 job at SL level. if he's only prepared to be a no 1 then he'll have to start at NL level. would make a good number 2 though and has the distance from the players that macca obviously lacks.

Harrison would be a great No2 with an experianced coach on board.

It's normally the other way around the number 2 is close to the players while the head coach is very distant from them.

He did very, very well at Salford and was the longest serving SL coach at that time. If he had stayed 3 or 4 years and then somone else brought in Salford would be in a better position now but Karl was the right man for 4 or his 5 years at the Reds.

Not all jobs are created equal. Bradford despite our problems remains a tasty job, plus we and Karl have history, so I reckon he pretty much certainly would be interested.

I meant ages in terms of it just being mentioned. A very good friend of mine worked for Karl at the time selling kitchens, and heard it straight from him. I'm not suggesting he was offered the first team role, but a coaching job at the club. It's not hard to believe, we hardly have the strongest back room staff in the league!

I agree I would like Harrison to be involved in the coaching setup at Odsal. It would be a very good move by the club IMO. Don't think it'll happen though.
