It's difficult to comment on the signing as good or bad really, as I don't recall ever seeing the guy play. Bloody Setanta....

All I will say is if anyone thinks it's bad purely based on the fact he's a "backup" hooker and not first choice, don't let that influence you. Hendo was a backup hooker when we signed him too and I'd take him back in an instant.

If this turns out true, it's another "wait and see" signing for mine.

Hendo used the Bulls as a springboard to boost his career, and good luck to him, I wonder if L'Strange has similar ideas or if he's in it for the long term.

I've seen him a few times and he's decent signing, young, powerful, seems to read the play well.

If he's got a French passport though we can register him as French and it means there is no need for a visa or work permit.

I think he'd do well over here despite being interchange hooker over at Manly. From what I remember of him from last year (I was mainly keeping an eye on Menzies form!) he'll make a good starting hooker too. He's got good hands and is a solid little player who should replace Newton adequately.

I siad earlier that he would be a good replacement for Newton and I stand by it. I imagine we'll get him on a 3yr contract anyway and then we'll have three experienced NRL grand final winners in our team next year.

He's been banned for 3 games for a spear tackle so if we got this bloke we might not miss Newton after all.
