I do think letting him leave would be a bad move for the club, but if he wants to go it's not fair to make him stay. I still think a Iestyn type contract with Leeds should be pursued so that when he returns it will be with us. Even if it breaks, we'll get some compensation.

The wall of silence from the club is frightening, the rumours of Sam leaving for an NRL team have been gaining pace for well over a week now yet we have heard nothing from the club to kill these rumours and assure fans than we are keeping our star player.

It's strange, because when the rumours of Nobby coming back to the club the club were out in force to kill them.

Come on Bulls, give us the good news.

Why should the club respond to every rumour that comes up regarding players and coaches coming and going?

But the move to deny the Noble rumour came out of the blue and seemed quite out of character given the reluctance to makes statements about rumours in the past.

I hope Sam goes to the NRL and furthers his career, because he aint going to get no better here, been coached by donkeys and team mates that are not up to pennine league level. A move to Manly would be his best option. £1m for a 3 year deal, he should bite there hands off.

There seems to be some momentum in these stories, but are they actually a story? Burgess wants to play in the NRL at some point. Some clubs in the NRL think he is quite good and would like him. No s*** Sherlock.
Im not sure I think he is going anywhere. I think he will see out his contract with the Bulls, then go, for a new challenge. Just like Fielden did.

Agree that there is no story yet, as you say obvious statements from some clubs about his potential - as you'd expect.
Its certain that if he keeps injury free and further develops his skills and stamina he will be at some time be ready to mix it in the physical arena of NRL.
To go there within the next 2 seasons will see him unready and getting the cr*p beat out of him on a regular basis.
Lets remember how few players have made that step successfully.
Elliss(so far), Morley, Howard(perhaps) and they were battle-hardened before they went.

If Sam sees his contract out at the Bulls to 2011 then probably the right time to chance his arm at the ripe old age of 23!

tend to agree with most of that. having said that I wouldn't be too surprised, or disapointed, if we agreed to sam going a year early at end of 2010 season inexchange for some cash and or a player.

If we allow him to leave at end of season then club is effectively signing its own death warrant imo.
