| Needs to learn to tackle properly,
If he's gonna go for big hits (like the one he came off second best today) he either needs to bulk up, or go back NL1 where players are his size

| I like Kopczak a lot but he got taught a lesson today, he really did get flattened a few times. It seems like he is trying to prove something by going in for big hits all the time when he should be concentrating on his game.

| the problem is we've 3 players going chest high in tackles and no-one going for the legs. the amount of metres saints made today because they were able to keep their legs pumping was idiotic. a player anchoring their legs and theres a stop to the forward momentum

I've found Worrincy is a big culprit in this case. You'll get someone like Kopczak or Scruton will stop the man up top, and then Worrincy will come in to help out and instead of getting round his legs, will go up top too, where he doesn't really make any difference.
Thankfully I think that's probably something that coaching can sort out.

| Kopczak's still learning the game and is improving, he's still very much a work in progress so we shouldn't quibble too much. He's still a kid.
Having said that all our forwards ought to know that against the big guys you need to go high and low. Too many went upstairs on Puletua and Faasavalu and got bumped off. If someone goes low and slows the bloke down he gets easier to stop.

| It's very difficult to go down on a bloke if you are second/third man in. The first tackler has to go low, whcih has the added advantage of a softer target for the subsequent tacklers.

Its basics really. Take their legs and they fall over. I remember being coached that at school!

| I can understand the first tackler not going low, especially against Saints who offload for fun. However when one man is stood there holding him up top and a second man runs in and joins him up top, it seems a very very basic error. And sadly, there seemed to be quite a bit of that happening yesterday.

Most people who play at a high standard are told first man high, second man low nowadays. It's all about preventing off-loads. I agree with it, as long as someone does follow up and go low.

Exactly, it's been a problem for us for awhile. Infact, I remember a game earlier in the season where a Bradford tackler came in as the 3rd man, went for the upper body and his added momentum pushed the attacking player over our try line

| Can't believe Kopczak is taking stick. So he went for some big shots! Wow, is that wrong or something? he's a kid, he's learning, and he was playing the league leaders. He will pick up a lot from these sort of experiences. Plus, you don't know what his instructions were. "Needs to learn to tackle properly" is a remark I find just asinine.

Agreed. Before his spell with Fax, I wasn't convinced he was going to reach the potential. Ever since then, he seems to be getting better and better. I can't really see how bouncing off possibly the best prop in the league makes him a poor player.

Why was he bouncing off Andy Lynch?
