| Steve "Beaver" Menzies will be 36 next month, but for me he has stood head and shoulders above the rest of the Bulls this season. He is by far our best support player and arguably our most dangerous forward.
Should we offer him another deal ?

| Hell yes! He seems to have plenty of life left in him, would like to see him rested a bit more in games though. He really does punch above his weight as well, that tackle yesterday was quality!!

| Easy call at the moment that one, yes, our best and most consistant player this season. But would it cast doubt on resigning Morrison? Could we really resign both?

[i“We’re talking with a whole lot of our players regarding next season and he’s obviously an out-of-contract player so he’s in the mix with everyone else.
“Without a doubt we’d like to keep him. Steve knows the situation and we do and hopefully we’ll get something sorted.” [/i
I wonder if Macca has voted in our poll?

| I think Menzies is talking like he's staying. Plus Glenn Hall talked about playing with him again.

| Why would anybody put no? He's been one of our best, and the most consistent players in our squad. He doesn't miss many tackles and has set up numerous tries. I would like to see much more beaver in 2010.

Morrisons off quota so we can resign both, solo wants to either sign a new deal( hopefully not) or move to another west yorkshire club.

| The latest amendment to the 67 volumes of oversesas quota regulations issued last week confirm that a non fed player who was signed prior to 2008 can now come off quote IIRC.
Obviously we should try and keep Menzies. He's our most dependable and consistent player. He's an example to all those young kids coming through.

Absolutely we should re sign him.
If Morro is off quota too, I'd like to see him given another 12 months

Cheers for that, but my question was not so much about the quota rules, more I was getting at should we be resigning two backrowers of their....experience shall we say. Rather than promoting some of our junior talent - a fair few of whom are backrowers.
If its a case of resigning a fully fit and firing Menzies and Morrison and giving enough game time/development to Olibson, Whitehead, Donaldson, Cook(?) etc then fine. Im just wary of blocking the opportunities for our next generation of players, in which case maybe resigning one of the two might be a better balance for the squad?
Both Morrison and Menzies are good enough to resign looking at them individually, but we need to think of the bigger picture.
Solomona really should not be considered for an extention IMO.

yep, if he had been playing for another club this past couple of years with the same output as he's given us and had this current injury would we be looking to bring him in for next year? No, quite rightly we would not, the same logic should apply to resigning him IMHO. Time to move on for us and him.

| I'm pretty sure Solo is on his way.
That should hopefully free up a substantial amount of salary that can be used to address weaknesses in the halves and threequarter line.

| All three of our first choice second row forwards are off contract at the end of the season, out of them I would definatley only re-sign one of them, that would be Menzies, I would definatley not re-sign Solomona and I'm undecided about Morrison, but at the moment given his injury/games missed record I'm leaning to not resigning Morrison also. Given the capture of Glenn Hall I believe we should drop Burgess back into the second row, and if we released Morrison I would drop Nero into the second row also and go on and sign a established or promising centre. Assuming that we re-sign Lynchy, Menzies and Newton for nest season, the pack I would choose to start the games would be this.
Lynch. Newton. Hall. Burgess. Menzies. Langley.
Assuming that we re-sign a fully fit Morrison for next season I would go with this pack to take to the field next season.
Lynch. Newton. Hall. Burgess. Morrison. Langley. Subs: Menzies
Menzies coming off the bench for impact as he has done for Manly over the past few years. He's very effective in this role and it would allow us not to wear him out as much therefore getting more impact from him.

Don't forget the impact the WORRLORD has off the bench.

The wider effect of this on the local economy could be disastrous - Dominos alone might have to close down in Bradford

I think that was the idea for this year. However due to injury he's been doing 80 min stints.
Menzies and Worrancy off the bench would be awesome

Hence him wanting to stay in West Yorks! I believe the Government are working on a recession busting scheme to prop up fast food businesses in the are if he moves away.

They are indeed. I received a letter from them the other day asking if I would be interested in the position.
