Gaskell 6, Sammut 7, Addy LF?

Can't believe any coach would sign a young player and tell him he was "first choice" whatever - unless he was already in that position for the Kangaroos, maybe..The whole story sounds like a load of bunkum to me.

Agree Bulliac. Anyway, we need three halfbacks. You can't start a season with only two. Look at our injuries these last two seasons. We need Gaskell to let the other two see that they have to perform every week. I Have mixed feeling with Sammut. he is brilliant at times but lousy at others. I can also see him being an awkward person to work with due to his character. No coach can allow any player to p*ss him about. I hope we keep him so we have three decent halves but if Sammut wants to throw the dummy out of the pram then off you go to the coach that has been tapping you up. If he doesn't perform at Salford the Doc will soon lose interest in him. I would prefer a player that is 100% for the Bulls not a tempremental show man who isn't that consistent.

It is 100% true Gaskell would only sign if he got first chance at six we told him he be first chance full back for us but he wanted to play 6

I agree about Sammut - brilliant sometimes and on other occasions it doesn't come off, and that can be in the same game, but that is what you get when players play off the cuff and I'd guess most fans like that, even if it probably gives the coach ulcers. No idea about his personality though or what he's like to work with so can't really comment. Though I do know I hope he is around next year, and if it is the case that Danny Addy is going to play more in the pack we need the extra half back to keep the pressure up. Either way round, silly money from the good doctor would suit our finances I guess - but it would have to be silly money...

He may blow hot and cold, but for the matches he's won from his flashes of brilliance he deserves to be starting.

I think Gaskell is a good signing, but he hasn't proven anything yet, and if I were Jarrod I wouldn't be happy being a bench player.

He's a professional. If he feels he deserves to start but the coach puts him on the bench then the ball is in his court, so show the coach he's wrong..

Gaskell may have been told he would get an opportunity at 6, form and injuries permitting, but telling a kid who hasn't played 6 all season he'd be first choice in front of our best back, 5 months before the season even starts sounds ridiculous.

As we've seen with a few players this season, if Sammut doesn't want to stay then he should hand in a transfer request. Simple as that.

FC wants competition for places. No player has been told he's first choice.

Is Heath with us next season? He always has impact off the bench, and doesn't seem to bothered about only playing part of the game. If hes not around then Sammut would the same sort of impact, a fresh fast nippy player coming on when the defence is tiring, to give real speed and momentum around the ruck area. I would prefer a Henry Paul type of 6 rather than a Robbie so that the outer backs know what is going on, Gaskell fits the type more. IF FC is thinking along those lines, then I agree with him.

heaths still here next year AFAIK. hes told people that at fans forum and its been mentioned in various articles after his injury that he would be fit for start of pre-season with us.

I can see Sammut's frustration if he is used as an impact bench player. At times this season he has won us games (e.g. London away) on his own and should start. I'm not a fan of having our most dangerous player on the bench for the first 30 minutes of a match, where is bench warming. He should play 80 minutes every week.

Wow must say Salford signing Tim Smith came a little out of the blue, well for me anyway! Especially since its been all about either Sammut or Chase...

Hopefully with Chase asking to leave Cas and Salford snapping up Smith then it puts the Sammut rumours to bed! That said he has laughed it off himself pretty often enough, great news for us with good competition for the halves

Chase is a definite for signing for us, so sammut is habit up in the air at the moment.

I can now believe that? I was convinced about Sammut too, by a certain Roger Daley but I'm not complaining Smith and Chase will be the best HB partnership in SL next year.
