Looking at recent performances I'm not sure I'd re-sign Chisholm. While he can do the odd special thing he disrupts play too much and we end up depending on his maverick one man show too much against the better teams. He also looks well short of fitness and less than committed at times. I'd also not bother with Pownall as he couldn't tackle a big dinner going by Sunday's effort.

I saw this in the opposite way. We don't need to be playing the same way as Worky but sticking to our game plan. All he did was get himself off the field at the moment we needed him the most. Easier to say when you're watching but from the high shot penalty should have just smashed the ball into touch as quick as possible and got on with attacking the Worky line.

I'd be looking for a SL experienced organisational 7 to play with Keyes. Obviously they'll be growing on trees. Plus a number 9, unfortunately can't see Butterworth coming back. Reading between the lines of the Craig Harrison interview at HT on proper sport, seems he's trying to get him a deal at Cas. Wouldn't blame him.

If we stay in L1 we'll save a lot of cash if we don't re-sign Chisholm. I have serious reservations about his fitness and level of commitment.

I think we've made a mistake with Butterworth. He should've been in and Hallas played at 13 or not at all. Hallas simply isn't good enough at dummy half. Butterworth may be younger but he's more skilful. I remember him kicking 40-20s last year in the 19s.

I've always been under the impression that allowing Butterworth to go to Cas was less of a decision to not want him playing for us, and more to keep them sweet in order to get the likes of Egodo, Hitchcox and Green in return. With 3 other hookers already in the squad, but really lacking some quality in the centres and size in the pack, you could see the logic. Especially if Butterworth wanted to go too.

Saying that, when Butterworth was here, he still didn't get picked. I don't get it either, from what I've seen of him, he's certainly looked a better option than Halafihi or Hallas at 9. Perhaps there's more to it than playing ability? (Total guesswork)

Butterworth is the best hooker on our books. It's madness that he hasn't been given any first team action this season. The blame will be solely with John Kear if we end up losing him.

Announcement due tonight so I expect it's Webster. Wonder if he's an addition or a replacement for Smith or Gibson? He's better than either IMO.

Well you should be because he's quality.

I'm not sure where you get the idea that he has a problem staying fit. He played 28 times for Castleford last season, which must be pretty close to being every present (30 SL games + 2 play off games + a couple of cup games). He also scored 16 tries for them last season, even though most of their play went to the other side (Greg Eden's side)

Fair point I was under the impression he had struggled with injuries this season but looks to have played around 75% of Cas games. Still not overwhelmed with the signing though but time will tell.

He's experienced, a good SL player and playing in a decent side. Seems a decent fit to me especially in a position where we arguably needed strengthening .

He's certainly an upgrade on what we have.

I do find it a bit strange that people are a bit unsure about this signing. He's been our first choice centre for many years now - absolute workhorse, fan favourite, knows his way to the tryline. He'll be great for you.

I'm as negative as they come and even I think this is a cracking signing. As long as his body is still up to it, he's too good to be playing Championship, never mind League 1 should promotion not happen.

Webster won't come cheap so we either change our style of play to get early ball to our centres, or we've just wasted a ton of money on a bloke who is hardly ever going to get a pass.

Think you have got a gem here. Many Cas fans would have been happy to see him go round again in SL.

I like Garside but your point about how we play is a good point. We already have plenty of talent out wide but the ball only gets to them if we kick it.

Was there ever clarification on the Lilley loan deal? They originally announced it was until the end of the 2019 season, rather than 2018. Which understandably confused absolutely everyone as who's heard of a loan for a year and a bit in this sport?

Yes we've got him for 2019 too.

However I don't think playing the three of them at once works, too many cooks and all that. One has to sit it out I'm afraid.
